Elizabeth Keefover was born in Fayette Co PA to John George Keefover and Sarah Phillips. Father George was born in Middletown MD. to Jacob and Anna Maria (Mary) Iseminger Kefauver. They came to Fayette Co PA around 1788. They had 12 children I am descended from their son Philip Kefover. George lfet Fayette Co. and moved about 20 south in Morgantown area.
I know that this is older posting, but I am hoping that you are still an active ancestry member. I am looking for ANY information on Elizabeth Keefover (1833-1917) who married a J.H. Moore (1833-1916). Their son George J. Moore (1859-1940)was my great-great grandfather. I would be so grateful.

I hoped that other people would have fun with it. The newspaper is a hoot!
Tricia

Have purchased a photo at Centreville, MI flea market, for $3.00. On the back it states Jacob Keefaver or Keefover, but on the front are two children. One about 1 1/2 and the other about 3 years old. It appears that this was taken about 1890 and was in Wabash, IN. Would like to see relative have for reimbursement of my cost and postage.
Ours
come from Fayette Co., Pa and then went to
Monongalia Co., Wva, then to Kansas.
Yes, your William R. did come to Kansas and
he did homestead out here with the rest of the
Keefovers. His wife is Cynthia C. I believe
I have one of their obituaries. They did go
back to Taylor Co., Virginia. It will take
me a while to see what information I have on
them. I don't think I have him connected to
a father. I will look and get back with you.

I'm so sorry I didn't keep up with the
genealogy but this has been a bad year.
I had a second daughter die of cancer(age 45) 10/17/2000
and so have not been into this at all. She was in the
hospital in Kansas City from 8/21 until 10/17
and I also had a brother die on 9/7. Anyway
give me your email and I will try to transfer
some of my information. William is the son
of Peter R. and Anna Freeborn and I have a
lot of information on them. Give me your
address also and I will send you a history.
Peter is the brother of George II my great
grandfather. They are the sons of George I
and either Margaret or Sarah Phillips. Sorry
My email is 45yrkks@jbntelco.com

I do have a land
grant of Peter Keefovers that I have tried to
get to some of those and I believe I have one
signed by Willliam.
I'll have to look back in my information.
There was a Phillip Keefover family who I believe
lived in the Fairview, WVA area. I do have
a family tree on them. Ours come from Monongalia
County, WVA. The Keefover's come from Alsace-
Loraine, France (or Germany) on the border.
In a newspaper clipping of a picnic for my
relatives it says they come from there by way of England and to
the shores of Maryland.
The 2001 Reunion will be on Sunday, May 27 in
the Barnes Fire House in Barnes, Kansas starting
at 10:00 p.m. The Verne Keefover Family is
in charge of it this year...Richard is a
member of that. It is near the Keefover
School, the cemetery where the Peter Keefover
are buried. It's great to see where your
family started out. After being in West
Virginia doing research and seeing their land,
those immigrants must have thought they were
in heaven when they got here.
I have not ever verified any father for George and Phillip
I have two genealogies my mother copied in 1957.
Someone come through Kansas and she copied all the
info they had. I have the book she wrote it in.
She didn't remember who it was but in it it has
info from P.W.Keefover and Etta Brill parentage.
She has Phillip m. Ohpele Lucky and George Keefover
m. Sarah Phillips and then Margaret (this is
verified by my Grandpa James E. Keefover when he
told my mother the family history) daughters of
Theophilis (not the Colonel or the famous one.)
I believe I had found that family but not the
ancestry. George supposedly died in Iowa on the way here. Some of these people
come by train and some covered wagon. Margaret
died in Washington Co., Ks 1/31/1870 at her daughters
house. The information I had says Jacob m. Isenminger is the parents of these
two but then I have other info that desagrees. I will get
my information together and see how yours fits with mine.

I have a Catherine Keefover born in Middletown MD/ Mar. 14 1785 came to Fayette Co. PA around 1800 with her father Jacob Keefover-Kefover. I have no other info on her. but I found a Catherine keefover married to Frederick Bollinger in Westmorland CO, that was born around the same time as my Catherine. bit is said that she was from Adams Co. PA where cousins of Jacob Keeefover lived. Alleghney, Fayette, and Westmorland are all close in proximity. your Katherine must have been married to a Keefover. Do you have a name of a husband for her? Later Scot
