Ralph Keeler Family Tree

Ralph Keeler was born in England about 1613. Ralph came to America before Feb. 1639, as his name appers in the Hartford, Ct. town records. Generations up until about the 6th stayed in the Ct., NY area. They then started to migrate west. Am interested in any information in this line of Keeler's. Have a Keeler Family book dated published in 1985.

David Keeler

I have extensive family records of the descendants of David Keeler B: about 1817 Died: 1865 +/-, he was married to Mary Ann Demuth, lived in Waterville, Ohio, I believe on a farm on Neowash Rd. He was my grandfathers great grandfather. I have been able to document most of his descendants but he seems to have appeared out of nowhere. Rumor has it that he immigrated to Ohio from New York, possibly Kortland, New York but I can find no connections. If any of this sounds familiar please contact me at appronkeel@hotmail.com.

Hi all,

I am just starting to research the KEELER family in Spring Township, Centre County, PA. This is my boyfriend's family, not mine. (Got him hooked on research now too!)

As I am looking back, I find Keller and Keeler often inter-mixed and wonder if that was just a sloppy handwriting mistake.

Now I find a Kehler in the mix... Father Kehler, sons Keller...

Can anyone share info with me about how the name changed over the years, or from Germany to America?

THANKS!

Molly Heeman Hetrick
blueheron98@yahoo.com

Rev. Denton KEELER (1789-1886) Upstate New York Methodist Circuit Rider.

Rev. Denton KEELER (1789-1886,) son of John Peter and Leah (WOOLSEY) KEELER, of the southern part of Columbia county and Pine Plains, Dutchess county, NY. Denton m1 Mary (GIFFORD) (ca1789/91-1851) who is buried with other GIFFORD family members in East Chatham, Columbia county, she was the daughter of Daniel & Meribah (WILBUR) GIFFORD. They had the following children; Almon D. (1811-1891,) Catharine (ca1817-1872,) Isaac Smith (ca1820-bef1883,) Rev. Richard Woolsey (1824-1899,) Lyman H. (ca1827-1887,) and possibly a daughter named Delilah. (unproven.)

Denton m2 Jane Matilda (BUEL) (1815-1872) daughter of Timothy and Thankful (OLMSTEAD) BUELL, (no issue.)

Denton was baptised as an infant into the German Reformed church and then converted as a youth to Methodism and became a Methodist circuit rider that served many areas up and down the Hudson River communities. In the 1850's he lived for a while in Lysander, Onondaga county, NY where his son Almon had settled to become a farmer and then in his later years Denton moved back down to Pleasantville in the Town of Mount Pleasant, Westchester county, where he died at age 97.

After many years of research I have never been able to locate his place of burial though a newspaper obituary said that his remains were sent to Wappingers for burial but in Denton's will he had requested that he be buried in the local Methodist burial ground in Pleasantville.

You may see more data on this family on my website for Upstate New York Genealogy at www.unyg.com.

I have fully documented and sourced versions of this genealogy to trade with other family members that can send me their connection and are willing to share data.

Dick Hillenbrand

Keeler family in Michigan

I am trying to find some information on the Keeler branch of my family that moved to Detroit in around 1915. Cornelius Keeler, married to Mary Flemming, had a son Daniel in around 1843 in Ireland. After immigrating to the US, they first lived in Newburgh NY, and then Auburn NY. Daniel died in Auburn in 1911. His widow, Anna, moved to Detroit with her grown children, Bertha (married to James Doyle), John, and James. James was married to Mary Buckley, and they had two sons, John Vincent b. 1907, and James Leonard b. 1909. James Leonard and John Vincent both married in MI in the 1930's. This is where I lose them. Does anyone have any information on this Keeler family?

Castine, ME Keelers (and NY?)

Looking for information on Keeler families from Castine, Hancock County, Maine.

I believe that my grandmother's great-grandmother was Sally Keeler. She married William Henry Vane in Castine, ME on October 31, 1853. I believe she was born April 1, 1837 in Castine, and was the daughter of Henry and Mary Keeler (who ended up raising her three children after her husband left her).

According to the 1870 Castine census, Henry Keeler was born about 1790 in New York. His wife Mary (maiden name unknown) was born in Maine about 1792.

Keeler from Chenango County, New York m George Ingraham in Oxford, New York.

Does anyone have any information on Mary Keeler. (Possible A. as middle initial) She married George Ingraham in Chenango County, New York. They had 5 children.
Henry Fred
Ed
George....married Anna Edsell, moved to Boston, Mass.
Edith Louise...married John D. Millard
Harriet...married Nathan Ives
Mary Keeler's husband, George Ingraham, was born Nov 20, 1849 in Oxford New York. After Mary died, George married Josephine Hendrickson (approximately 1885) so I am assuming that Mary Keeler died somewhere around 1881 or 1882. My Grandmother was born in 1878, and she had a younger sister named Harriet so Mary was still alive around 1880.
If anyone has any information as to where Mary was from or who her parents were, I would appreciate it.
Thank You
sarah vermilya, great grand daughter of Mary Keeler and George Ingraham
vermilya@citlink.net
You may e mail me directly.

Looking for anyone who might be able to help me find a Keeler family living in Loda (Iroqouis), Ludlow (Champaign), Paxton (Ford), Rantoul (Champaign) or Patton (Clark) who had a son between 1900 and 1927 who went by the nickname of "Slim". He would've died about 1964 or 1965. I am wondering if anyone can place him in a tree and/or if he had any children.

ANY help appreciated!
At some point she had a son named Franklin Mestemaker. I have been told that she is related to the family who owned Keeler Brass in Michigan.

James, George Keeler--born in Vermont

Hi,
Our ancestors, James and his father George are said to have been born in Ferrisburg, Addison, Vermont. I had a lady do a look-up for me there, and there were no Keelers. Is anyone familiar with this line? She said there isn't a place to look up records for the county. Supposedly there are 3 or 4 Ralph's, then Jonathan, then George, then, our James. We think they may have been born in Monkton, which is close the Ferrisburg, but it is just a gut feeling(they later named a new town Monkeytown). We are trying to prove James' parentage, so we need this information.
Does anyone have any suggestions, or is anyone familiar with this area that might know old churches to look at for christenings?
Thanks, Becky
