Does anyone have this particular Leonard in their data? I'm researching a collateral Cody family of my direct line, that of John L. Cody who lived in Halifax co VA as did Leonard and Martha Keeling. I've found two Keeling marriages to Cody females, one of Spencer P. Keeling to Ann T. Cody on 18 Oct 1844 and that of Lafayette Keeling to an E. Cody on 15 Feb 1843. I found Ann T. living with Leonard and Martha in the 1850 Halifax co VA census, with the smallest children in the household, John L. Keeling, age 4 and Spencer P. age 2, that I feel are Ann's. I have not found Lafayette and E. other than the marriage. There are two more marriages of Keeling men in the 1840-50 time period in Halifax co, but not to Cody females: William Keeling m. Martha Anderson on 5 Feb 1846 and Thomas F. Keeling m. Dolly C. Dodson on 5 Mar 1850. These marriages are listed in "History of Halifax County, Virginia" by Wirt Carrington, which has a few errors in it, so there may be other marriages not picked up by Mr. Carrington. Are all of these Keeling men, sons of Leonard and Martha? Was Ann T.'s husband, Spencer P. deceased by 1850 or not in VA? Does anyone know what happened to Lafayette and his wife, E. Cody?
