My name is Harrison Wilson, son of Henry Harrison Wilson of Richmond, Virginia. I am doing some work on the Tyler family (for our family tree), from which we are descended, and I am wondering if you are the Bill Tyler who sponsored the Tyler reunion in 1995.

If so, I have the detailed genealogical charts that you sent my father. I am interested in learning about William Tyler's (the one who married Elizabeth Keeling) parents. Specifically, I think his father was Richard Tyler, but I can't find much information on him online or in your notes, other than the fact that he married a Susannah Baxter.

Many thanks.

Harrison Wilson

Have any of you actually gone to Gilmer and/or Upshur County or Camp County and researched G W and family. I wonder if land records, marriage records, etc. are available for that period. I know that availability and condition of early records varies greatly from place to place. We found excellent records in Alabama going back to the early 1800's.

Nancy Fleet Keeling Todd KY-Halifax VA

One of my relatives Samuel William Brumfield married Nancy Fleet Keeling in Todd KY in 1830. His father James was married to Mary Keeling in 1805 in Halifax VA. I also believe Joshua Brumfield was his brother that married Susannah Keeling in 1804 in Halifax VA. I also found a Thomas Keeling that married Nancy Fleet in 1784 Halifax VA. I believe this Thomas to be the father of the Edmund and William that moved to Todd, KY in 1820. Does anyone have information to connect the Nancy Fleet Keeling to Nancy Fleet?
Gary Shanklin kytish@hotmail.com

Re: Edmond Keeling: ancestors and descendants

I also am working on the Keelings in Kentucky. Edmund and William show up in the History of Todd County Kentucky as being on there ancestors farm in 1823. The first Keeling in this area was John Keeling in Christian County Kentucky in 1810. At that time Todd county had not been formed and was a part of Christian and Logan. This Edmond (1781-1849)shows up in the 1820, 1830, 1840 Census. Some of the family trees show him as Edmond the III. The trees also show him as married to Nancy Frances(1781-1820)or Francis. I have F:Thomas 1750-1827 M:Nancy Fleet 1760-1794. The 1820 census shows him with 5 boys and 7 girls and no one his wifes age. This is in agreement with the list of children in the family trees and the date of death as 1820 if prior to census time which was usually in the summer. His son Edmond (1810-1879) shows died in Polk MO. My gggggrandfather James Brumfield married Mary Keeling in Halifax VA in 1805 and if I am correct Joshua Brumfield was his brother and Married Susannah Keeling in 1804 in Halifax VA. Joshua named his son Thomas Keeling Brumfield so that is a good hint. My James Brumfield had a son named Samuel William that married Nancy Fleet Keeling(1809-1830) in 1830 in Todd County KY. That put together makes me feel pretty good about the Thomas Nancy Fleet union because there are several possibilities that popup in a search. Hope this helps. If you run across anything that ties Nancy Fleet Keeling to Edmond or a brother I would appreciate it.
Gary Shanklin
kytish@hotmail.com

Edmund Keeling (1809-1879)of Polk Co, MO was my gggrandfather. His son, "Taylor," was Winfield Taylor Keeling. I am needing help sorting out Edmund's family in KY. There seems to be more than one. Unable to trace for certain beyond this Edmund. Does anyone have descendancy line for Edmund that places the family in Va? I think an earlier Keeling was married to Nancy Frances, perhaps Edmund's father. Edmund from MO above was married to Mary Wolfe. Does anyone know the parents of the Edmund Keeling married to Nancy Francis? I would be so grateful.
Denise Keeling Bates

You post is something I have always felt was a fact, to be proven, someday.

Catherine was married to LINTZ. She was residing in Lewis County, TN.in the 1850 Census, among the KEELING family.

According to the records on file she had 3 sons by LENTZ/LINTZ.

Her second husband was living in Wayne County, TN. in the 1830 Census, as my direct ancester William KELLEM/KEELING and Katy/Catherine "BURNET" KEELING were after their marriage in Lawrence Co., TN, License, Aug. 31, 1826.

Maxwell KELLEM/KEELING and Permelia ALTUM were also married Lawrence Co. TN., Bond, Dec. 9, 1835.
Hello Cousin,

My name is Jason Rein. I am the Great Great Granson of John W. Keeling (brother of Florence). I too have recently started researching my family tree. I grew up near Dyer, TN in Milan, TN where my Great Grandfather, Thomas Lee Keeling ended up. I am trying to find his grave. He died in 1941, 28 years before I was born.

Please contact me if you would like to share information. I live in southern Williamson County, TN and am very close to Maury, Lawrence, and Lewis counties.

- Jason Rein

Hi. My husband, John Ross, is the son of Geneva Keeling Ross. I don't have too much information, except I know they are the same family, as Arch and Nannie were Geneva's parents for sure. Geneva died in 2001. Arch Jr. died here this year, and we went to funeral. I don't know if I ever met Marvin. There are so many of them, I lose track. Even in my husband's immediate family, there were 9 children, he is the youngest. Geneva really loved children. lol I guess that makes you first cousins. We still live in Kanawha County, do you?

I have just started my tree but my Great Grandmother was Florence Keeling (1878-1962). Florence died in Dyer, TN; I have the location of her gravesite along with a picture of her tombstone. She is buried by her Daugther, Fronnie Inman and Son in Law J.W. Alford. She married Elisha Inman. Her parents were George C. Keeling and Nancie E. Newborn. That is as far as I gotten.

Keeling. He apparently changed his name wehn he came to canada. His father was Thomas Keeling. Thomas's father was Valentine Keeling of Timsbury.
I am aslo looking to further this line and add more information for my Fiancee.
Any help would be appreciated.
My Keelings (Joseph b.ca 1790 & Amy ? b.ca.1793) came from England with two daughters, Harriet b.1833, Mary Ann b.1828. They are in Butler Co., PA in 1850 & 1860 census with a James Keeling (b.ca.1802), a brother? Joseph became a citizen in 1847. My grandmother said "Mary Ann was born & raised in London". Since they apparently had no sons, I believe this is the end of my Keeling line in the U.S. Sure would like to track them back to England.
Harriet married Gould Wintersteen & moved to Ohio.
Mary Ann (my g-g-gmother) married Wm. Garvin, lived on adjoining farm in Butler Co. Their children: Jas. Richard, John W, Isabella, & Albert.

I started seriously about a year or so ago. It can be very frustrating at times, but fun when I discover something unexpected, like a notorious murderer in my family. Not in my direct line, thankfully.

This is not my direct line, but here's what I have. Use it as a guideline for your own research.
Hi Ron, my father in law is Rufus Keeling and his gf was Terrell K. born GA about 1868. I don't know of any other Rufuses in the family. I can't find Terrell's parents in the census data on this website but I have seen Moses or Mases in a few census listings. Can you connect up with Terrell?

Mark Hill
