In the book "The 1693 Census of the Swedes on the Deleware published in 1993, author Peter Stebbins Craig's later research claims our ancestor was as form Saxony, Germany. Quoting from page 50, "Notwithstanding the contrary claim in Dr. Gregory Keen's classic genealogy, the progenitory of this (Keen) family was not born in Sweden. Known as Jurgen Schneeweiss ("snow-white" in German) or as Jurgen Kuhn ("bold" in German), Governor Printz' monthly account book shows quite plainly that he came from Saxony, Germany. Northern Europe was a fertile recruiting ground for the Swedish army."
The footnote says, "the accounts for Jurgen Kuhn in the Monat Gelder Buch, pp. 26 and 74 are captioned "Jurgen Scheeweiss von Sachsen."
The book gives more information about him and his three children, Hans Keen, Jonas Keen and Anna Sandelands as well as hundreds of other early settlers of New Sweden.
