I am so curious about the Keeneys in WA. I moved to the Bothell area about 8 years ago and found a Pop Keeney field where the kids play football. I guess this guy Pop Keeney was a coach.

My mom's family were Keeneys from Texas County MO and there were so many of them that they could be anywhere. Do you know if the Bothell Keeneys are related to the Wenatchee Keeneys and if either are related to the Texas County, MO Keeneys? If I can search around here I will but I wouldn't know where to start. Any ideas?

I am searching for a rock solid, undeniable source record that would prove that John Keeney and Mary Mercy Smith were the parents of John Keeney b. 12 Mar 1714 and died about 1816 in Greenbrier Co., VA. He supposedly married a lady named Katherine. A solid source of this would also be nice.

Julia Ann is identified as Julia Ann Fox, wife of Jscob Keeney (8 March 1818,TN - 25 Apr 1883, Jackson Co, MO) also bur at KeeneyFamily Bur Gnd in Jackson Co, MO, in Roscoe Keeney Jr's May 1993 issue of Keeney Update.

Here's the info you requested.
Fountain Keeney , born June 25,1829. Died May 26,1857

Julia Ann Keeney, Wife of J. Keeney, born March 18, 1818
died Feb.18 1863.

Note that her name was Julia instead of Julie. Also, I have a list of 9 names that are buried there.

I also have a list of four names(Keeney) that are buried just a few miles away at the Bryant Cemetery located in Cass Co. Mo. in town of Belton Mo.

I believe the date listed in the previous post for Fountain Keeney is correct. I'll have to check on the date for Julie Ann Keeney. At the present time the cemetary is within the city limits of Kansas City Mo. It is in the far southwest corner of KCMO. The Kansas state line is approx. 1/4 mile to the west. The graves are in a valley with bluffs just to the north. The Big Blue river run through there and the graves are maybe a 100 yds. from the river. There are also two small white marble stones that have initials on them, but no dates. I've always thought they may have marked childrens graves. They are just laying
loose on the ground. I'll get those for you too.

I'm not any relation to the Keeney family. I live near the old Keeney farm in Jackson Co. Mo. and I know where the cemetary is. There is one stone still standing and the name on that stone is Julie Ann Keeney. There is another stone that is laid face down and it is Fountain Keeney, as you have mentioned. The burial ground isn't obliterated, but there is no sign of any boundary. Unfortunately, ATT&T plowed in some underground fiber optic cable near the grave of Julia Keeney and possibly disturbed other graves in that area. I've heard the same story of the stones being piled in the corner of a corn field. I'll keep an eye out for them because they are probably still there,but maybe sunk into the ground.

I only have five-children between John Keeney, Sr. and Mary (nee: Malloy) and you wrote that there are seven. Can you provide the two names I am missing?

Elsie Maud Keeney and Perry Adolph Keeney were born in Pineville, McDonald, MO, two of the ten children of William R and Mary Ellen (Noel) Keeney. Elsie married A. G. Underwood in Webb City, Jasper, MO, in 1901. They had two children, Ansel R. and Grace L. She was either divorced or widowed, because she married Edwin L. Corlew in 1907. The family appears in the 1910 census in Webb City and then disappears. Elsie was my grandfather Vernon Keeney's oldest sister.
Perry, born 5 Mar 1890, was in the 1910 census in Webb City. His WWI draft registration in 1917 also shows his address as Webb City.
Any information on any of these people would be greatly appreciated.

Coincidentally, my gr-grandfather was William R. Keeney, married to Mary Ellen Noel. Their youngest son, Vernon Ray, was my grandfather. I have limited info on the Keeneys--perhaps they dropped out of the sky. I have more on William's mother, Elsie Morrow, and Elsie's parents. There is a good amount of info on the Noels, and I am now working on verifying it. I am delighted to share what I have. My mother was wondering just a couple of weeks ago if she had any cousins out there she didn't know about.

Keeney, Jr who made a book and all the pages are on there but they are in PDF format which is fine but I was wondering if anyone could tell me where I could find his publication of the book. Do you have any more information on William? My gggrandmother gave birth to 16 little Keeneys most of whom lived to be at least 80. Maybe they're connected. I have a William T. as one of my great uncles.

1901 Ireland Census: family living in Meenacharvy, Glencolumbkille Parish, Donegal Co, Ireland.

Mary Malloy Married John Keeney, Sr. in Ireland and together they had (5)-children all born in Ireland. I am aware that at least (3) of them came the the USA and settled in Chicago, Illinois.

I have record that their daughter, Margaret Keeney, was born Jan-15-1919 in Tullinteane, Bruckless, Donegal, Ireland. She married Thomas Togher June 1958 in Chicago, IL. Margaret died Jul-16-1986 in Chicago, IL.

I am looking for any information or connection to this family.
