I have traced my roots up to Jobe kippen and Ann Smurrage.
There is a Jobe Kippen that descended from Benjamin Kippen
in Burnt Island's. Do you happen to have any information on
Jobe's parents, and if so from what source?

I've re-checked my file & found Sarah Kippen, dau of Jobe Kippen & Ann Smurridge, born 1894. I beleive we've a match. I have her sister Susan born abt 1892, also married to an un-named Croucher. I am interested in discovering more about your Keeping/Kippen connections to Jobe Kippen & Ann Smurridge. Although I have Jobe & Ann married Jan 4 1871, in Codroy, I do not have their daughter Sarah Ann. Jobe is descendent from Benjamin Kippen & Frances Bagg of Burnt Islands circa late 1790-1800. Mimi - I apologise for delay - there was a John KEEPING b. at Boldre 1805 to George KEEPING and his wife Martha (previously Soffe). If you think this may be your John I have links with his brother George b 1803.

Thank you so much for those details. I am not sure if the family is connected, I cannot say a definite 'yes/no'. I have a Jane KEEPING b 1829 and Caroline KEEPING b. 1834,I have been thinking that a George KEEPING was possibly Jane's father. Finding it hard. I am researching Philip Dalcam variously spelt Dalcan, Dalcom, Dalcon & Dalcum who married Elizabeth Keeping in the Southampton ENG in 1868. They arrived in South Australia (SA) in the ship 'North' on 30 Nov 1875 with their children. I believe Philip may have been a Fireman on the S.S. Euro which sank near Beachport SA in 1881, he survived. I think Elizabeth d. 1882 at Glanville SA but I can't find Philip's death. Do you have any more on Philip please? Ian

My great-grandfather Robert Crosbie married an Ethel Keeping born ca. 1887. Ethel had a sister Gertrude b. ca. 1896 and a brother Lancelot (Lance). Trying to find info on Ethel's parents. I believe her father was an employee with the Anglo-Newfoundland Telegraph Co.

my family is from newfoundland, we are keepings, but i believe originally from England, I am having trouble finding out where to find this info out. we wre and are still a prominent family in the southern coast of newfoundland, which is in turn fortune bay, english harbour west.

As for buffets i know quite a lot of buffetts, but none that are related to keeping sthat i know of, i curently live in cape breton, and buffett is a prominant m=name here is certain communities.

My father was Harvey Keeping died 1969. My grandfather was William Keeping, from Newfoundland. My father came to Nova Scotia from Newfoundland, that is about as much as I know, anyone that might be able to help would be kindly recieved.
