I hope this helps your research.
My relative, William Charles Blatz b 1881 was married to Edwina Ann Keimig b 1882. Her father was Francis X Keimig who married Susan Sauer. Francis' father was Johann Severin Keimig b 10/23/1821 in Gros Osteia, Bavaria. Johann's sister was GERTRUDE KEIMIG who married Arnold Morhart. Their parents were Peter Keimig b 1775 who married Elizabeth Morhart b 1772.
I grew up in Elizabeth, NJ and knew The Morhart/Manhardt family on Smith St. Catherine Morhart married a Manhardt and had a daughter, Clair. I can put you in touch with Clair if you are interested.
Catherine's husband died young and she remarried and moved to the Jersey shore.
I knew Clair well and was in their house on Smith St.
Small world!
If you want Clair's info e-mail me at mkbruno@verizon.net

Mom lives in Council Bluffs, IA, Marie in St. Paul, Minnesota, Ervin and John in Minden, IA. I think she went to Lindsay last year for a funeral of one of her cousins.
Several of us are working on the family genealogy. There is the line that is in Baltimore, one that is in Eliz. NJ and one that has its roots in KS. This last group comprises most of the Keimigs. I am from the Eliz. NJ group. A lot of people are falling into place in our chart. There are several of us distant cousins who communicate via the web who are sharing info.
Keep posted and we will be contacting you.
Drop a line to log in with us.
Phillip
He remained in NJ
Severin (Sefrin) was the first son of Johann von Beruf.
J. von Beruf left NJ and went to Zenda, KS.
He returned to NJ in his declining years and is buried in Mt.
Fortunately, we have plenty of data on our family.

Your great grandmother Elizabeth and my grandfather John were brother/sister.

I would be one generation older than you.

Their father was Johann Severin, owner of the J.S. Keimig and Sons store Broad Street and in the painting "Going to the Fire."

e mail me, and we will exchange telephone numbers and I can get plenty of data on the family off to you.

My knowledge of Elizabeth, who I believe married a William Collins is just that. I have a picture of a Bill Collins, stating first cousin, dated around 1918.

Best,

Phillip
1.434.589.1513

Yes, My husband's father is Henry Keimig, brother of Mary and Elizabeth Konz. What is your mom's name? We just returned from Nebraska . When we were there I wrote down some of the Keimig family history. Let's keep in touch.
On the family tree, Francis Keimig (daughter-in-law made the tree) is an off shoot from Julius Hohn (Eulie) Keimig [Adam Ludwig (Ottie)Keimig's brother?] and Maud Bessie Wheeler. Looks like he was one of five off spring from Julius and Maud. Then there is another split and looks like he married a Magdalen Elizabeth Stein and had another child. Hope I am reading this correctly.
I am sending a letter with my email and more info. I also see some Taylors in the tree, will have to contact my Uncle robert and see if they are related to my mom's side of the family. wouldn't that be a coincedence. bye for now, k
I was so surprised to get such a quick reply, I found this sight early this morning, @2:30 and didn't expect to get a response for some time . I have found the family tree sent to us by Francis Keimig. It starts with Johann Severin Keimig and Anna (Mary) Kramer. Then branches all over the place. I finally found my family on it. I will try to get a letter to you soon. If I miss getting a letter to you in time, I hope you have a great trip, I loved Spain. k

I am new to message board. My grandfather, Bernard Keimig arrived in New York from Germany 5/12/1883. He was born 9/1860 and was on the 1905 New Jersey census in Linden Township. He and family lived in Rochester Township,(Zenda)Kansas in the 1895 census there. His wife's name was Elizabeth (Grimm) and they had 5 children, one of which was my father. I am trying to find the parents of Bernard. His name was Severin when he arrived in New York, but was Bernard when he lived in Kansas probably because there was another Severin he lived near.
