Hi my name is Wesley Kellar and I am looking for information on my line of the Kellar family tree. My grandfather was George Kellar, married to Mary Kellar. They had children Gerrard (Jake) - my father - and Alma, George, Mary and Joyce Kellar. They lived predominantly in the Hamilton, Ontario region. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I have heard that we are related none-too-distantly to Olympic gold-medal winner Becky Kellar is that helps in any way.
Cheers,
Wes Kellar, introspective.individualist@gmail.com
Their mother, Ellen Bloom Keller, was the younger sister of Anne Bloom Johnston, who was married to Bernard "Ben" Johnston, who was my Grandmother Clark's paternal uncle. So Ben Johnston would have indeed been their uncle by marriage. It is only a tangential relationship but it has been fun to chronicle it, and you have been very helpful. Thank you very much.

I can be reached by Judy Keller at clark.joseph@bls.gov although I can't think of any more information that I could provide.

Thanks. I see in the Social Security Death Index:
Grant William Keller, b. 18 Jan 1923, d. 1 Apr 2008, last benefit recv'd Hutchinson, McLeod, MN, SSN issued Nebraska.
It is interesting because perhaps my Grandmother Clark met people like Lois and Grant when she went to college in Omaha during the late 1930's, as they were the niece and nephew of her Uncle Bernard. I try and reconstruct my ancestor's worlds of people as much as I can.

I am thinking now that the "W" in Charles W. Keller stood for William.

Keller, Omaha, WWI Draft Registration Card 1917-1918
b. 15 Sep 1889 Illinois

---You cleared up the mystery whether the first-born child was Lois or Louis.
Hi.....Thank you for your message. Charles and Ellen (Bloom) Keller had a daughter named Lois whose daughter (friend) I am helping with her tree. It is confusing since there are two John Kellers with a son named Charles and the ages are also the same. I think in 1900 Charles W and his family were still in Illinois but by 1920 had arrived in Omaha.

Thanks again for suppling the Bloom name.

Steve

Hi. My great-great-grandmother Stromberg had a brother named Bernard Johnston, who married Anne Bloom in Omaha ca 1916. Anne had a sister nammed Ellen M. She married Charles W. Keller, of whom you are looking for. I was looking at Ancestry.com and found the following:

1900 Census Chicago, Cook, IL Ward 5
John Keller, 40, b. Sep 1859 GER, widowed, immigrated 1880
Charles Keller, 9, b. Sep 1890 IL
Mary Keller, 8, b. Oct 1891 IL
Kate Keller, 7, b. Nov 1892 IL
Amelia, 2, b. Jan 1898

There are also two Illinois databases for marriages and deaths, respectively. The only woman for John Keller I can find in both would be a Fredricka Knoerger, of whom a John Keller married in Cook County 14 Sep 1889, and she died 29 April 1900 at the age of 33.

Earlier, I found Charles and Ellen interned in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Omaha with the other Blooms and Bernard Johnston.

Bernard E. Johnston 24-91-1 1951
Anne Bloom Johnston 24-91-2 1962
Alfred Bloom 24-91-3 interred 1943
Augusta Bloom 24-91-4 1940
Keller, Ellen Bloom, 24-91-5 interred 11 Jun 1956
Keller, Charles W. 24-91-6 interred 25 Aug 1955
Gordon Johnston 24-91-7 interred 2/9/1981
Laura E. Elmquist Bloom 24-91-10 int 11-11-1987 b. 5 Apr 1894, d. 11-7-1987 last residence Omaha
Alfred Bloom II 24-91-15 int 4-10-1992 d. 4-7-1992, b. 5-4-1924 last residence Omaha
Constance Connie P. Bloom 24-91-16 int 5-2-1985 last residence Omaha

Hope I helped. What is your relation to this family?

Hi there, check this out:

http://www.oz.net/~blueboyz/kellar.htm

this is not the easiest to read, but many many Kellar/Kellers have found there roots as being traced back to Christian Kellar (1710).

Kind regards,

Ryan

My 4x great grandparents were Philip Martin Keohler(Kellar/Keller) and Frusing Irean Hensey. He was born about 1765 in Hessen Germany and died in 1809 in Ontario Canada. She was born about 1774 in Germany I believe and died in 1867. They are both burried in Keller Cemetery in Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. I am looking for any information regarding parents and siblings of either one.

Emmett Keller/kellar and sibs Kenneth, Raymond in ILL

I found a site on Ancestry for some Obits of Kellar family members. I am looking for a Keller/Kellar man whose nickname was Slim, real name may have been Emmett. I have a photo of a Carol Keller, with Edna Freeland and Mildred Pearson (taken anytime between 1940 and 1960), whom I would guess is related to Slim as well.

The family, from what I know was in and around Rantoul, Ludlow and Paxton or Patton. I have an address from an old family address book for Emmett Keller/kellar on 802 E. Jefferson in Bloomington, IL (no date).

I am trying to determine if Slim and Emmett are in fact the same man, and if he had children.

Do any of these things by chance fit into the Keller/Kellar family you know?

Please contact me at nsrunyan@hotmail.com if you might be able to fill in some blanks. I think Slim was born between 1910 and 1922.

Good Morning Colleen!

Philip Martin Keller (Sr.) received his 100 Acre grant for half of Lot 1 Second Concession of Marysburgh (North)Mecklenburgh District (Prince Edward County)- which is probably the lake side concession facing Lake Ontario.

He shared the lot with Daniel Abraham who got the other half. The land grant was dated 1790 on Orders and Regulations. and was a free grant for his military service with the British in the American Revolution.

He had a second land grant for Lot 9 in the Second Concession in 1800 again as an Orders and Regulations. Both were free grants. I haven't looked up the amount of land for the second grant.

Yes, I did go over my hand written notes and did see that Philip (Sr.) was married to an Irean and that Philip Jr. was married to a Sophia Hill. Makes me wonder if Sophia Hill was a sister to Abigail Hill who married Samuel Palmatier, in one of my lines. Samuel Palmatier was probably a son of Catherine Stark and John Palmatier, Jr., who were married on May 2, 1809 in Marysburgh.

Contact me at ogemahwajewon@hotmail.com directly when you have a chance. A lot of the notes I haven't compiled yet into a document but I do have them.

Dennis

Hello Ron!

Interesting your post. Most of the records I have seen show that Philip Martin Keller was married to a Sophia (Keller). I could be wrong. Have seen the transcription for the Keller Cemetery in Loral Wannamaker's Prince Edward County Cemeteries.

Know a little about some of the descendants as I have a Keller connection to my Stark family, also of Prince Edward County.

Jacob Stark was a recipient of a land grant of 100 acres in South Marysburgh while Philip Martin Keller receivd his 100 acres in what was to become North Marysburgh Twp.

Philip Martin Keller and Jacobs Stark were both removed from the original United Empire Loyalist list.

While Philip Keller was part of Reidesel's Dragoons that were attached to Burgoyne's Army that surrendered near Saratoga in 1777 or 1778, Jacob Stark, was probably impressed as a 13 or 14 year-old in Morris County, New Jersey - as a British Army unit passed through.

Jacob Stark insists on a land petition he was born in the Province of New Jersey and was 55 at the time of the petition (filed in 1819), widowed and a member of the 53rd British Regiment during the War. He provides several affidavits from other 53rd Regiment members.

Let me know how I might be able to assist you. I do have some info on the descendants of Philip Keller.

Dennis
