I moved to Utah to go to school and have had the opportuinity to use the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. I have found a great deal of information using the following sources:

1. Katholische Kirche Wolfersweiler (Nohfelden), Kirchenbach, 1720-1870, Film #560481.

2. Rudi Jung(Main Author) and Rolf Freytag(Added Author), Familienbucher von Rudi Jung, Salt Lake City Family History Center, West Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah 84150, CD#242 - FHL INTL FamilySearch.

I know you can get the Films and CD's through your local LDS Church Family History Library. They have been very helpful to me. I know when we visited Raymond Leisman in Missouri we had not as of yet found it all. He was most hekpful in taking us around the local cemetaries and we took pictures of many of the tombstones. She married Jacob SCHLEMMER if that helps you at all. I've attached a picture of their family.

Also, I misinformed you of Augusta Kelm Wengler's married name -- it was Winkler.

It looks like your grandmother, Rosa, and Charlie's widow Rosa are different people.
My Kelm family were not Catholic.
Charlie Kelm, Willie Kelm and Julius Kelm were Jewish. Their father, August Kelm, was married to a Jewish woman, Christina Podick, who died about 1870. He raised his sons Jewish and his daughters Lutheran. Charlie came to America in about 1876 and the rest of the family arrived in October 1881.
Charlie married Ida Bruening in 1889 and died of consumtion in about 1895.The other two uncles never married. Willie died age 31, and Julius had health problems so that he never married, although he lived to be 81.
I am still trying to figure out if Charlie Kelm divorced Ida and married Rosa, who became his widow, or if Ida and Rosa are the same person.

My Rosa Kelm was married to John Wengler on November 7, 1889 in Roseland, Adams County, Nebraska. The witnesses were John Goebel and Barbara Plein (do these names mean anything to you?)

Based on the date of birth for Rosa and John's daughter, Augusta Wengler, (08/03/1887), I am assuming that Augusta was not a blood-related daughter to John Wengler and that her real last name should have been Kelm.

Information is that Augusta was born in Germany, however, no town was provided.

Augusta died in 1819 due to influenza. I was told she was a nurse working in Omaha. By 1819, Augusta was married to a Schmidt.

Was your Grandmother Catholic? Perhaps we can obtain church records from the Omaha area.

I found Mrs. Rosa Kelm in the Omaha city directory on the web. Was your Rosa's middle name Ida or Eda? Rosa is shown in the city directory as Charlie's widow, but we have a copy of his marriage certificate to Eda Bruening. This is confusing.
"Charles Kelm of Omaha aged 27 years, born at Germany son of A. Kelm, his mother's maiden name was Christina Podick, and M. Eda Bruening of Omaha aged 24 years born at Germany daughter of Wm Bruening, her mother's maiden name was Wilhelmina Margraf." Married Feb 9, 1889.
The Omaha directory shows Charles Kelm living at 1708 Center Street in 1891. (I don't have a date of death for Charlie Kelm, but 1891 is the last time I find him.) In 1893 and 1894 Rose Kelm is living at that address - not Charles - and in 1895 and 1896 and 1897 she is shown as widow of Charles Kelm.
During this same time period, Mrs. Ida Kelm is living at 1540 S. 17th St. and working as a domestic at the Om club. This is very confusing.
My theory is that Ida/Eda worked at the Om club and had a room there but kept the home she had shared with her husband?????
Then in 1901 Ida married George Liebacht in Omaha.
It looks like these women were NOT your Rose, but maybe you have a clue. It is very confusing.
Charlie Kelm was my grandmother's oldest half brother.
I am not sure where my Kelm family came from, but one of my g-aunts was born in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany or Stettin, Germany. They arrived in the US in 1881. Charlie had come over about 5 years earlier.

Found your message and wonder if you have any information about a Rosa Kelm. My great great grandmother Rosa Kelm married John Wengler and they lived in Assumption and Roseland Nebraska.

It is coincidental one daughter was named Augusta Wengler and she was supposedly in Omaha when she died of the flu in 1918.

What part of Germany is August and Louise Kelm from?

My great grandfather August Kelm arrived in New York from Germany in 1881 with his wife, Louise, daughters Amanda, Paulina, Augusta, and son Wilhelm. Son Charles had come over earlier. Son Julius followed in 1882.

City directory finds them in Omaha, Nebraska, during the 1890's. One of the sons must have been married to Ida Bruening, and another son married to Rose - or is that one person, Ida Rose?? Ida later married George Lieburthnecht. Charles and Willie died young.

John Kelm is boarding with August and Louisa in 1896 on Hugo Street in Omaha. Who is John?

I was just in Princeton doing some research. My husband's mother was a Krueger, but I do not believe she was related to anyone buried at the Lutheran Cemetery in Princeton. I took some pics of headstones with Krueger on them. Here is a list with b: and d: dates;

margaret klem was married to my great-great grandfather. She was born in 1813 in Deckenhardt, Rheinland germany and died 12 oct 1850. She is buried in St Ferdinand Cementary in Ferdinand IN. She married John Peter Leisman 11 sept 1834 in Nohfelden Rheinland Germany.
I am looking for information about the death of my great-great grandfather John Peter Leisman. Do you have anything?

My husbands grandmother was born Emilie Kelm in Poland. She married Freidrich Schultz in Poland and the came to Manitoba Canada around 1900. Her husband died at Gimil MB and she married my husbands widowed grandfather, Johnn Zado. There were four Zado children born, Susie,johb, Elizabeth and a stillborn son. There were also Schult boys

I have some Kelm's in my family who settled in the Oconto area after moving from Oshkosh. The furthest I can trace my line is to William F Kelm. He was born in Prussia in 1851 and died in Oconto in 1919. He had a son named Charles August Kelm.
Its a long shot but there may be a link between the families given that they settled in the same general area of the state and the middle name of "August." Have you found anything new since you made your original posting?

My 3xgreat grandmother Dorothea Elisabeth Kelm married Jakob Urban their son, Johann Jacob Urban, and his family also settled in Green Lake, WI before moving to western Minnesota where they were caught up in the middle of the Dakota Uprising. After reuniting at Camp Release the family returned to Green Lake. I seem to recall the county was changed and so if searching Green Lake you may have to search two different counties depending on the year.

I am the great granddaughter of Otto Wilhelm Kelm. I was wondering if any one had any information on his parents or any Kelms in the Hill County are of Texas. He and his wife lived in the small town of Malone, Texas. If any one can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It was me, Marba! We've found some additionaly information about Dorothea. (I think what I sent you referenced Wilhelmina Doege's ancestresses--my bad.)

Dorothea was born December 20, 1786, in Debenke, Kr. Wirsitz, Posen, Prussia, to Peter Coelm/Koelm and Maria Krincke. Dorothea was baptized on December 26, 1786 in Debenke. (Debenke was part of Lobsens parish.) Her parents were married on November 22, 1778, in Lobsens parish. I'll send you another email.
