I know it sounds very simple, but have you looked under Kimpton?
This is a mistaken version of the name.
I have interests inthis area, as my wife's grandmother was a Kempton, from the Vauxhall Walk family that ran the glassworks and had links to Whitefriars Glass.

Just figured it out...Your great grandfather, Earl, was a brother to Ansel. And Ansel is my mother's father so my mother and your grandfather (Francis) are cousins. My mother is 90 now.

My tree on Ancestry is named "BuschKempton and I live in Milford. I have a Frances E. Kempton born in 1923 whose father was Earl Kempton born in 1896. Earl's parents were Ernest Lenwood Kempton and Adelaide M. Rose and his WW II card card can be seen on line.

Any chance you have any Kempton or Kelly information ? My grandmother, Ada Kempton b. 1879 Elmira the daughter of James Kempton and Idella Kelly Kempton. Supposed to be some connection to the Seneca Indians. They moved to Detroit in the 1880s. Any tidbits would be greatly appreciated.

John's brother Arthur had the following children, you may be able to track one of them down.

Arthur W of Norfolk, MA
Albert F. or Wrentham
the rest were all girls.

I'm guessing they would be in their 80s now?

If you are interest in Arthur Whitby's line I have it right back to the first Ephraim.

It appears your John Kempton b April 12,1903 Boston is the son of Arthur Whitby Kempton b July 12,1879 Milton, Queens Co NS. His mother was May Alice McMann b Jun 15,1885 Dorchester, MA dau of John and Alice McMann. Arthur lived at 28 Brookfield St, Dorchester, MA

John and his siblings would be my 4th cousin once removed.

Hello, I was wondering if you were related. My grandfather is Francis Earl Kempton born March 4, 1921 in Milford, MA. His father was Earl F. Kempton and mother was Vernie I. Julian. Both were born in Milford, MA. As far as I can tell, Earl's father was Ernest L. Kempton and his mother was Adalaid (no maiden name). I was wondering what E. W. Kempton's first name was and if he may be related to my line of Kemptons. I looked at the photo and it appears that there may be some family resemblance but maybe it is just wishful thinking. I do not know much about this side of my family and any info would be appreciated.

My Great-Grandfather is Edward Army who is directly behind your grandfather. I inherited the photo with many other photos from his family. Looks like our relatives worked together at American Steel and Wire Co. I'll look for other work photos to see if there might be another.

I´m so glad that you reply my message board, you are right, my grandfathers birthday was january 30 1867, it was my mastake and of course that i want to help you with the all information i have about him.

The first thing is that my grandfather did not lived in cananea, he had a ranch in a little town call Imuris, Sonora Mexico, but your information is not all wrong, what happened here it was that his ranch was up in the mountain between imuris an cananea, but it was inside the limits of imuris town, the ranch still calls "Remedios" this land is still my, a metter fact i leave in imuris, sonora, i have a lot of information about him and my family, he were married here in Imuris, with Mrs. Rosario Grijalva she give him three childs, Ricardo, Elena and Maria, Ricardo was my father, all of them deceased, i have his married certificate and dead certificate the only thing that i don´t have is his birth certificate.
I hope that we can keep in touch to interchange information.
I´m sorry about my english, but as i tell you i´m from mexico and my english is not pretty good.

This is not the help you are looking for, but you may be able to help me if "The Kempton/Kimpton Families in Nothe America" book needs to be corrected. This book by Morton Saunders has the birth of Sydney Drew Kempton as January 30, 1867 instead of January 1, 1867. Apparently, he lived near Cannaea, Mexico.

The last list seems to be birth records, maybe from the published Plymouth vital records.

The baps. of Mary through Sarah may be wrong, since the presumed birth dates work better. Without seeing any of the original records, it's hard to tell where the problem lies. It may be explained in the Kempton genealogy mentioned elsewhere in this forum.

As far as the Kempton side I only had listed as far back as James and no listing for his parents or siblings or any other children info other than knowing that there were some because of the photo's that I have and what info there is on them. This is so wonderful! Thank you soooooo much.

I was reading your post in reply to the Kempton's and noticed a name that I have. Hurley Kempton (Kemplen) and his brother Stokley are in one of the pictures that I have that belonged to my Grandmother.

Maybe you might have some information that can help me fill in the blanks. I know that my G.G. Grandmother was Rebecca Permilia (have found different spellings on her middle name) Crabtree (1862-1942) and that she was married to a James/Janes Buchanan Kempton. But then I have what looks to be a later photo with Rebecca next to a gentleman listed on the back of the photo as Bob Patric(k).... and with her are also Hurley and another child (girl) It also has the info that Bob is my grandmother's stepdad.

What I'm searching for is any information on any other children that James Buchanan Kempton/Rebecca Crabtree might have had other than my Great Grandmother born Minnie Bell Kempton Rose(1885-1967). I have two photos, ohe has Minnie in a picture with a lady that is named Ina Anderson, Sisters. and another that has Ina beside her husband Brad Anderson.

In yet another photo I have two people standing in front of a store and the names on the back list them as being "Aunt Annie & Uncle Seymour Kemplen(Kempton?).

I know that peoples last names change due to different people doing the writing in different records. Just wondering if any of these names ring a bell. Any information on the other children if there were any would be wonderful.

Benjamin Ray Kempton was born 26 May 1845 in Farmington, ME, son of William Warren Kempton and Hannah Ray His ancestry is in The Kempton/Kimpton Families in North America. I do not know if the book is still available but you might find it in a library or ask your local libbrary to get it on loan.

Hi, my uncle's name was Leon Kempton. He was a native of PA and fits your description. He lived for a while in TX and I know he had two possibly three daughters. One daugher's name was Cecelia Anne born in 1984 and another named Mary Amanda Baker Kempton born in 1980. I never met them. My uncle used to go by the nickname "Skip". It may be possible that your niece and I are cousins. My uncle died a few years ago.

I wonder if you can put them together by dates. Rev. Daniel Kempton was born 15 Sep 1813 in Washington Pa. He died in Burden Kansas. Both he and his son were active in the church there. I have a Kempton Bible with alot of information in it. My grandfather Daniel Kempton was Daniel (jr.) grandson.

Looking for a KEMPTON - ex Charlestown (Boston), MA

I'm, trying to locate the family of some recently found Kempton/Coughlan cousins who used to live in Charlestown. John Kempton was born in Boston in 1903 and died in Charlestown in 1971. His wife Alice Coughlan was born in 1907 and died in 1982 in Charlestown. I would assume they married in the late 1920s or early 1930s. Their known children are Robert, Donald, Lorraine (she married a Hilden) and William.

To the best of my knowledge, John Kempton is the son of Arthur Kempton and Mary McMahon.

Alice (Coughlan) Kempton is the daughter of John Coughlan (1869- ?? ) and a niece of my grandmother Bridget (Coughlan) Reilly (1877-1929).

I have been trying for quite a while to locate some of the children, but without success.

If anyone can help, it would be very much appreciated.

Rebecca Crabtree is my Great Grandmother ( I was named After her she raised my father until her death after his mother was killes in a auto wreck. her son William Hurley Kempton SR. Was my GrandFather. William Hurley Kempton Jr is my father. Bob Patrick was her last husband they were married when she died ( I think in 1937 I'm not at home where all my records are but I wanted to let you know I do have some info)

According to the "KEMPTON / KIMPTON FAMILIES IN NORTH AMERICA" by Morton Saunders, Arthur Whitby Kempton's second wife was Alice Coughlan. His first wife and mother of John R. Kempton was May Alice McMann. John R. Kempton was born April 12, 1903 in Boston, MA.

I don't have record of John's children, but I can give you the name of his brother's children. They would be cousins of the folks you are looking for and may be of some help. John's brother was Arthur W. Kempton, Jr. and his children are:

Happy Millennium to all Kemptons everywhere. Here we are entering the Oh-Ohs and still hoping and wondering how to get more info on George Kempton Smith, born in Philadelphia circ 1887 or 1888. His mother died in childbirth. His father handed him off to his sister to raise, then went on to have another family, of perhaps ten to fifteen children. Baby George may have been called by another name as well. Any ideas?

My name is Leopoldo Kempton and i'm looking for information about my grandfather, may be you have something about him. His name was Syd Kempton and leaved and died in Nogales AZ and were married in Mexico.
