Re: Looking for any Kennedys

Hello to all you Kennedy's out there! My name is Lisa. I am the daughter of Thomas Vincent Kennedy originaly from Wilkes-Barre Pa. My father had a brother Joseph and my grandfather was Patrick Joseph Kennedy. We moved to New Jersey in 1971. I have(had) three brothers and one (had) one sister. The olest brother being a Jr. T.V.K. He died in Atlantic City 1993? Then Michael Robert. He graduated from Edgewood Regional High of St. Michaels in Levittown Pa. He married a Lisa Funsten, now Lisa Kennedy. Even though she and my brother divorsed years ago she wanted to keep the Kennedy name. And who could blame her? (smile) My sister Susan Marie Kennedy-Creamer-Pettine went to Edgewood High in NJ briefly befor marrying early to an Edmund Creamer of Hammonton NJ. She died in 2008 of brain cancer. Michael died 8 mos later on Oct 12, of a massive heart attack. He has a son Alex and a daughter Madison. They live in
Ga.? I, Lisa Ann Kennedy went to Edgewood Regional High till 1979,lived in Ft. Lauderdale Fla. and now in the Orlando area for the last 16yrs or so. My last sibling and the baby of our family is Patrick Joseph Kennedy. He graduated from Edgewood R.H. went to Atlantic City to beco;me a dealer in Trump Towers/casino. Patrick married a Livan ? from the Phillipeans they have 2 sons. Brandon and Sean Kennedy. I hope the little info I have can help someone. I too would love to know if theres any family of ours left out there. The family I do have is a very sad state of affairs. I have neices, nephews and cousins I've never even seen! This is my immediate family. They've all broken up and dispursed all over and for some reason feel they dont need to keep in touch with the other side of their families. Its really heartbreaking. Seperation and a little of the "Irish Disease" split alot of us apart. But as some of u already know: To be Irish is to know that they know suffering. But theres whiskey in the jar an bla, bla,! Thats an old traditional Irish song for those who didnt know what the heck i was saying! Called "Wiskey Jar" oddly enough. Of course the premise of the song is that the wife left, the dog died, no food to eat. But lifes good cause theres wiskey in the jar. Its funny I only heard it once a long time ago but its stayed with me all these yrs..Well good luck to ya. (inspite of the irish thing) With all my affection to long lost kip n kin. Lisa yer Lass.

I am searching for any information on Brigid MacDonald (McDonnell or McDonald) and John Kennedy who may have married in the late 1860's in Kilkenny Ireland. I believe it was in Tiscoffin. He was a blacksmith. They had at least 11 children and had settled in Mothel Co.Kilkenny where my ggrandmother Mary Frances was born. Other children included Nicholas, John, Thomas, Martin, Brigid, Margaret, Ned (Edmund or Edward), Stephen and Lena.

I hope you are still around! I think I can clear some of this up for you. Michael Bolivar Kennedy was my 3GGF. He was born in Abbeville SC in 1826, son of Michael and Agness Carlile Kennedy (I can get you more on them). Michael's first wife was Eliza M. Barksdale. I am descended from their daughter, Mary Jane "Mollie" Kennedy. In 1856, Eliza Barksdale died in childbirth and M. B. Kennedy later married a cousin of Eliza, Mary Frances Barksdale in 1862. They had 2 children that I know of, Thomas B. Kennedy, b. Jan 1866 and Sarah F. Kennedy, b. c1863. I have no more on Sarah, but wonder if she is your "Fannie". Michael B. Kennedy moved to Birmingham in late 1800's and died in 1909. His son, Thomas B. moved with him. He apparently married a Mollie and had at least 4 children, Maude; Thomas B., Jr.; William D. and Fannie (check 1920 US Census for Jefferson County, AL), which all fits with your cousin's memory. Thomas B. apparently died in 1924 and his wife Mollie in 1937 (I haven't confirmed this, it could be an amazing coincidence, but likely I have the right ones).

I am beginning to think all the Kennedys are named Thomas, John, Patrick, James, etc...My gggrandfather was Thomas Kennedy, his son John Thomas, and he had son James Patrick(who died at age 3) My gggrandfather Thomas came to Canada in 1851 and presuming stayed with relatives, he then came on to USA in Illinois in 1852. My gggrandmother was Julia Ryan who joined him here in US and they were married in 1864. Thomas became a Capt. in the Civil War here in the US. It just seems very frustrating to find anything when they are all named alike. I have been unable to find out if Thomas had any siblings or who his parents were. So if u happen to run across any of these, i would appreciate it if u would let me know. THANKS. Vera Kennedy Hanlon

Alexander Kennedy and Jane McEwen Kennedy are buried in the Warrensburg Cemetery in Warrensburg, Warren Co., NY. Alexander Kennedy probably came to Hadley sometime in the early 1800's. Alexander's gravestone states he was born in 1760 and died in 1852. Jane was born in 1772 and died in 1856.

I believe the couple was married in Dull parish, Perthshire, in 1789 and had 4 children prior to immigrating to the U.S.

Does anyone descend from Michael Kennedy of Ballyshonac, civil parish of Farahy and RC parish of Kildorrery, Co. Cork? The following three children were born to Michael and Anna. I do not know if these children were some of the youngest, the oldest, or the only children, and I am not certain of Anna Tracy's place of origin. I know there were many Tracys just across the border in Co. Limerick. These are their children:

1-17-1837: Bridget Kennedy baptized Kildorrery; sponsors Edmond Quin and Elizabeth Tracy (B:sonac)

5-28-1840: Edmond Kennedy baptized Kildorrery; sponsors Edmond and Bridget Kennedy

2-2-1844: John Kennedy of Michael Kennedy and Nance Tracy of B:shonack baptized RC Kildorrery; sp John Murphy and Julia Andrew
Thomas, Patrick, William, Julia, Mary Ann are some of the names in my Kennedy line. Some of them also went back and forth from Canada and Minnesota to finally end up in Saskatchewan, guess there was health issues of some kind.
New records are added all the time...I check back monthly and have found things that way. Thanks for your reply Vera, I will keep a lookout for you. Happy hunting. Ann

Thank you for your reply. There seems to be alot of Kennedy famlies in Canada. Are they all related...I do not know. Some of my Kennedy's seem to have passed in and out of Canada and Minnesota with part of the family ending up in both places. Surnames connected to my Kennedy clan are: Gilfoil/Kilfoyle, Burns, McQuilty, Kain, and Pick. Look at my tree on Ancestry for any possible connections.
I find Canadian records are far and few. I keep checking back every month hoping for something. Keep me posted on how you are doing. Happy hunting. Ann

Is this your Leonard H. KENNEDY?

Social Security Death Index: Leonard H. KENNEDY (6 Jan. 1929- 26 Mar. 2002, last res. Powell, Knox, TN) SSN issued TN.

If that is the earliest known KENNEDY in your family line, try to get his death certificate and obituary.

The census doesn't show any Leonard of Knoxville in 1930, but there was a Leonard, aged one, in Blount Co., TN, 1930. If you find the names of Leonard's parents, you should be able to find them by Googling "1930 census," which brings up other years' censuses also.

FamilySearch pilot site has the 1900 census, and FamilySearch.org has the 1880 census database.

Kennedy family in York and Chester Counties, South Carolina

I am searching for the parents of Alice R. KENNEDY who married John BATES Sr about 1808 possibly in York County. We have very little information on her but John BATES Sr's homestead was on what is now Stoney Fork in what became the Ogden Station area when the railroad went through. The area today on the map is about 2 miles north of Antioch Methodist Church (on Rambo Road) just across the creek on the right hand side. John's neighbor across the road were two Rowell families and the one closest to the creek laid out a cemetery on his property which became know as the Rowell, Bates, & Campbell Cemetery, AKA Antioch Church Cemetery. The cemetery still exists and I am reasonably certain Alice is buried there though few headstones remain intact or readable today.

Is there anyone researching this part of the KENNEDY family?
William G. BATES

Hi,
My name is John Kennedy Living in Brisbane, Australia and I am starting to try to find my Ancestry tree and where it all went from Co Cork.
My father who is now deceased would have known how to piece it together so far back at least but I was not interested back then.
I have photo's and some research that my father and his brother did before they died.
My father was Edmund Kennedy and his brother Thomas Kennedy.
Their father and mother my grandparents were Joseph and Dorathea Kennedy Joseph was from Co Cork.
His father was John Kennedy also.
My father Edmund had photo's and told us of our rellatives wwho moved to Canada.
He had researched information on a Pte T. Kennedy 7992 2nd Battalion (Eastern Ontario Regiment) 22nd April 1915 - this was an extract from the book at Menin Gate near Iepe - 50,000 servicemen were killed and who have no known grave.
So I have assumed that maybe rellatives in Ontario may be our Kin.
My father was going to go to Canada in his younger days un known what for, maybe to be with family as he always talked of the Kennedy klan.
He then married my mother staying in England and did not go to Canada.
There are the names in the family that seem to me to be going round and round. (Rell's naming after rell's) my dads youngest brother is also John.
William, Edmund, Michael, Thomas, Joseph, John, Patrick.
If you can link somehow Pte. T. Kennedy with my story we are talking rellatives.
I would be amazed that we may close a circle.
Strange as it may seem: My father was born on the 29 Sept.
He died 29 Oct he lets me know somehow on 29th of either Sept or Oct certain messages, either things are OK or the llikes.
You may notice that the messages following this one are dated the 29 Sept.
Yes it freaked me out somewhat.
I look forward to your reply.
Kind regards,
John Patrick Kennedy.
I'm looking for information or location of Richard Allen Kennedy (b.1942). He is the son of Paul and Maxine Kennedy and the grandson of Henry Dean Kennedy and Delitha Engle. I have no information as to where he was born or where he would now live. He is a second cousin to me.

Alan Kennedy
