Michael F. Kennelly of Stony Point passed away on November 15, 2002. He was 19. Michael was born in Suffern, NY on May 29, 1983 to Francis and Patricia Moore Kennelly. Michael graduated from North Rockland High School in 2001 and was a sophomore at SUNY/Albany. Michael was an avid Giants and Yankees fan and enjoyed fishing. In his spare time, he loved watching late night movies. Michael was known for his sense of humor and will be truly missed by all who loved him. Michael is survived by his parents Frank and Patti, his brother, Danny, and two sisters: Brianne and Kerianne; his grandparents: Victor and Marie Moore and Irene Kennelly;
his aunts and uncles, Kathy and Bill Cole, Willie and Donna Kennelly, Thom and Diane Kennelly, Mary Kennelly, John and Liz Liska, Victor Moore and Terence and Bobbie Moore. He is also survived by his cousins: Peter Cole, Nicole, Christine, Janine Kennelly, Caitlin and Joey Kennelly, Meghan, Jennifer and John Liska, Victor, Matthew and Kristin Moore and Zachary, Ryan and Danny Moore.
Michael is predeceased by his grandfather, Walter Kennelly in 2000.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM today and 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Monday at the Higgins Funeral Home, 321 S. Main Street, New City, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on November 19, 2002 at 11 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point, NY, with burial to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Rockland Lake, NY. 19-year-old college student from Stony Point died yesterday morning after being struck by a freight train about 10 miles outside of Albany.. Michael Kennelly, a North Rockland High School graduate and a SUNY Albany sophomore, went with three friends to see a 50-foot-high trestle in Guilderland, a short drive from their university..
