KENTER FAMILY IN THE 1790 CENSUS

From the book "Heads of Families for 1790...I found a Henry Kenter...1 male 16+; 5 males under 16 and 5 females no age living in Palantine Town, Montgomery County, New York. Does anyone have the names of the males and females? Would also appreciate other suggestions on where to search for vital information on them in Montgomery County? Many thanks.

Re: Sophie Kenter

You say she had a brother named Louis Kenter... I have a Louis Kenter who arrived in the US via Canada to IL then to St. Louis. My line are Jewish by religion. Louis Kenter was born 28 Nov 1882, in Prasnysz, Russia (from the Naturalization records and the Letter of Intent on file with the 8th District Court in St. Louis, MO), the town might also be Grazyna in southern Russia...don't know for sure. Louis died 15 Feb 1955 in St. Louis, St. Louis County, Missouri, his headstone reads Louis - Eliezar ben reb Chetzkel, died 23 Shevat, 5715 (15 February, 1955). Louis had been a tailor until his diabetes took both his legs and his eyesight. He married in St. Louis, Anna Davis, her family came to the US in about 1888/89. Louis came about 1900 from what we can tell...but have no given dates.
This is hubby's family and I didn't know his grandparents as they were gone by the time I married into the family...so I couldn't get any information. His father didn't seem to care about his family...other than his brother Charles Kenter. My father-in-law was Morris David Kenter born in St. Louis.
Re: Abraham kenter

Wondering where in Europe your Kenter line came from... I see that it is probably Jewish...so is our Kenter line. Louis Kenter, b. 28 Nov 1882, Prasnysz, Russia, (might have been Grazya or something like that from southern Russia) d. 15 Feb 1955, St. Louis, St Louis County, Missouri. He married in St. Louis, Anna Davis. They only had two children, Charles and Morris David. How I wished I had more on this elusive line. Headstone reads: Louis - Eliezar ben reb Chetzkel, died 23 Shevat, 5715 (15 February, 1955).

Any suggestions? I believe he first came into the US via Canada in about 1900 or so. Anna's family came in to the US about 1888-1889. Her family was from Suwalki, Poland/Russia. The town was in an area that was back and fouth between the two countries.

This is hubby's line so I didn't have the advantage of talking to his grandparents before they died to get information and his parents either didn't know much or didn't care about the family's history.

GEORGE KENTER

Happy New Year to all...hope this will be the year I learn more about my 2nd great grandfather, George Kenter like his date of birth and where, his date of death and where and the names of his parents. I do know that George married Frances (Fannie) Lobdell in St. Geroge's Church in Kingston, Ontario Canada abt 1821-24. From this marriage there were 7 children all born in Ontario...Azel Cook, John, Daniel C., Charlotte, Richard, Elizabeth and Edward M. I found Fanny and the children in the 1850 Newark, Allegan Cty, Michigan census without George. Any direction or suggestion for further research is greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Janice, I met you once at Ralph Holleman's funeral
or maybe it was Jean's funeral. Anyway, I have been
going through my dad's genealogy papers and I
too was curious about Benny Kenter. I'm pretty sure
that I've found him on the Social Security Death Index and
I've sent for further information, as contained
on the application. I have a lot of family
photos that Benny and Billy might be interested in, also.
Please get back to me soon.

Janice, I think the best thing would be for me to
make a trip to Pensacola and visit with you. I need
to make an appointment/ date with you ahead enough
that I can get things together, here. Maybe my brother, Ben
would come, also. I will try to call you later today.

The Benny Leo Kenter I found in the SSDI died in New Jersey and
his birth date was off by two years, but the rest is the same. I
am sure this is our man!

He had a son, Benny Leo Kenter, Jr. in 1920, then disappeared, never to be heard from again around 1922-25. We suspect that he may have started another family somewhere in the states. Would be interested in any information. Thank you.
