I worked for several years in Europe. A techician from France was doing some work for us and he asked if I had visited my family? He told me that the Kercheval name was pretty common on the Brittany coast of France. He was from France. He sasid the name is derived from ker, as in kerchief. Head scarf and the the word cheval which means horseman or something like that. Cheval is where we get the word calvary. So as near as I can figure, Kercheval means Head Horseman. I had no idea even what nationality our name was until I talked to this guy. Sometimes , It pays to travel. Hope I helped and sorry for the missedspelled woprks. Still getting use to this Da-- machine
