I have letters to my Gr gr Uncle Louis Hippenmeier from Louise Kerling in 1928. She also wrote to Agatha Smith Phillips in Kansas City MO at that time. Louise took care of my gr gr uncle Louis' brother Paul Hippenmeier until he died in May of 1928 at the age of 40. Agatha Phillips was Paul's cousin. Louise Kerling lived in Brooklyn NY in 1928. I don't know how old she was. All I know is that they were in each other's lives for 12 yrs. I also have about 15 pictures dated around 1916-1925, not sure. In 2 of the pics taken on vacation to Callicoon NY, there is a "Mrs. Kerling" listed on the back as one of the people in the pictures. There are also pics of Rockaway Beach from that time period. Believe it was on the same vacation. People in the pics are labeled as Agatha Smith Phillips and her daughter Frances. John Smith(father of Agatha), Paul Hippenmeier(my gr gr uncle), Mrs. Kerling, Babe Smith, Ruth Smith and Billy Smith(baby of who?)
