Ann Offner Kern, 93,
formerly of Highpoint Towers, died Fri., June 27, 2008 in Sarasota, Fla. She was dauborn Oct. 22, 1914 in Depew, N.Y., daughter of the late Michael and Regina Ottinger Offner. A graduate of Strong Vincent High School, she stayed home to raise her children, and then went to work at the Green Shingle Truck Stop where she was employed for many years. Until her move to Florida in 2005, Ann was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and it's Ruth Guild, and was active with her high school girlfriends club, which started with about 23 girls following graduation and continues today with four women participating.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Rawa; and four brothers, Robert, Carl, John and Gustave Offner. Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Jedynski and husband Stan of Sarasota, Fla.
and Chris Dinnie of Sacramento, Calif.;'
two sons, Richard Goodman and wife Linda of Erie
and John Goodman and wife Linda of Cheyenne, Wyo.; two sisters, Dorothy Nelson and Elsie Gornall and husband M. Fletcher, all of Erie; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday 7 to 9 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St.
A service will be held there Thursday at 11 a.m. The Rev. John D. Coleman of Abiding Hope Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be at Erie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Pines of Sarasota, Foundation, Inc., 1501 N. Orange Ave., Sarasota, FL 34236.
