I live in Lumberton, NC and my granfather was Jessse Kerns,Scotland County, NC. He married my grandmother Ellen Clark who was Indian of the Cheraw Tribe. I have been searching for my grandfater's linage but I have not been sucessful. I id with the Lumbee Tribe. Are you familiar with a Jesse Kerns who was a wagon merchant that traveled maybe in Va., NC and SC?
