Classification: Query
1901 census (better copy) now shows my Grandfather Hugh Kerrigan in Coatbridge Scotland aged 24 not 19 as previously thought which would make is DOB as 1877.
He had a brother called Bernard who also lived in Scotland.
He married (1st time) to Rose Martin in Coatbridge in 1908.
She died in 1911 during childbirth.
He later remarried to Eleanor (Nellie) Troy in Newry Cathedral.Ireland date unknown. She was born in 1884.
They had 6 children, one of which is my father also called Hugh who is still alive but all his sisters are now no longer alive.
Her father was Francis Troy (flax sorter) and mother Lucy Troy (nee McEvoy) whereabouts unknown.
My Grandfather's father was also Hugh Kerrigan from the Bundoran area.He is registered as a Farmer.
His mother was named Anne (nee Clancy)
There is one Hugh Kerrigan registered in the IGSI County Donegal Census Substitutes,Tithe for the Townland of Finner Number 161 page 7 but without going to Ireland to check I do not know if this is the Hugh Kerrigan I am looking for.
Finner is one of the Townlands of Inishmacsaint the civil parish which also covers Bundoran and Ballyshannon Town etc.
My Grandfather died in April 1945 from Heart Failure in Coatbridge,Lanarkshire.
My Grandmother died in June 1945 in Glasgow from Congestive Heart Failure.
If any bit of this short, but potted history rings any bells then please get in touch?
Many thanks
Stephen Kerrigan
