"Mrs. Kestler, age 92, of Charlotte, died September 13, 2005 at her residence.
A service to celebrate her life will be at 11:00 AM Friday at McEwen Charlotte Chapel, with Reverends Lonnie Richardson and Mike Pittman officiating. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral hour at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kestler was born April 6, 1913 in Concord [, Cabarrus County], NC, daughter of the late Victor Benjamin and Virginia Dare Johnson Irvin. She was a member of New Covenant ARP Church, where she was very active until her illness. She was a graduate of Odell High School in Cabarrus County.
Surviving are her son, Raymond L. Kestler and wife, Sandra, of Denver, NC; sister, Metta Price of Concord; grandchildren, Shawn and Shannon Pittman, and Jay and Alysia McCorkle; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Amazing Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, 5709 Mingus Road, Charlotte, NC 28216, Hospice at Charlotte, 1420 E. 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28204, or to the Alzheimer's Foundation, 3420 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
