No, St. Paul's (Summerhill) Church is Lutheran. I've done family information extractions from this church but don't remember if I've done one for Ketner. I have the baptismal, confirmation, death and burial records from this church from 1789 thru 1860's. I'll look to see if I've done it and if you're interested please let me know. Nancy

I am researching the family of David R. Brown. I recently found the maiden name of his wife Rebecca. She was born in March 1843. The descendants that I'm working on lived mostly in the Orwigsburg, Schuylkill County, PA area. Rebecca and David's daughter Emma married Albert Samuel Yost. I was raised in foster homes in Yuma Arizona. After 46 years, I did found my brother and sister along with my mother. I did meet David & brenda Sue, but Louis (mother) died just a few month before I got to Idaho.
My father name is Marion Clyde Ketner, mother is Louis Lane. They were born in Texas. I along with my brother & sister were born in Idaho.

Does anyone know what happened to Lous Ketner Angel.
She was/is the Ketner family resurcher.
If she had died. please let me know, and eather let me know or put me in touch of the person that took over her work. I am Jimmie Ketner, her 2nd cusion.
I had lost all the paper work and photos of the Ketner family (thanks to my ex-wife), that she had sent to me, and would like to replace them.
My father/mother was Clyde Marrion Ketner and Louis Lane. David Marion Ketner and Brenda Sue Ketner are my brother & sister. I have other brothers and sisters, but I do not know who they are. I have a half brother named Dan Henderson, James and Linda Ketner (from Clyde Marion Ketner FIRST marrage.
I have no other info at this time.

I am looking for any information on CLARENCE KETNER, my grandfather. He was in world war I and lived most of his life in Wytheville, Virgina, although, he lived and worked for the railroad lines for a while. I would like to see the photos and see if this is my family also.

At one time I had the family tree that went back to the 1634's which was giving to me by Louis Ketner Angel (ketner family historion)
My ex wife kept these photo and all the paper work back in 2001 and now I am trying to replace them.

If anyone is looking for Ketner relatives in Pennsylvania, please check out the 1850 census for Blair County, Pennsylvania, specifically Hutson Twp, although I saw a few others in other township enumerations. Unless you can find an index, you will probably have to search the pages manually.

While researching my husband's side of the family, I came across a number of Ketners. The only reason I noticed the name is that I have a family friend in NC who is a Ketner and it made me wonder if there could be any connection.

Amanda Wood was my grandmother's sister and I am trying to fill in holes in the family brick wall.
They had two daughters Nona E. b. 12-31-1896 d. 3-6-1979. Ona Elsie b. Oct. 11, 1899- d. Apr. 4, 1972.

UPDATE!! I found my nephew!! His last name was Kattner! I found him at the LDS library. For any of you looking for ancestors or decendants the LDS library is a remarkable place to look and they have a wealth of information from all over the world!

John S. Ketner died in Yankton, Dakota Territory in Nov. 1889. Possible cause of death was an epidemic(small pox or influenza). He was married to Eliza W. Stevenson.(birth place - Philadelphia, PA) His occupation was a dentist.
Looking for any information on his birthdate, birthplace and cause of death.

By any chance, are your ggparents Mary Jane Brumfield & Eli Ketner?

If so, would you be willing to share pictures? I have a photo album from the 1860's & there is a pic of "T. Brumfield" taken in Lancaster, Oh. Mary Jane had brothers Tallman & Thomas and I am trying to figure out which it is. The album belonged to the Peters family their mother, Rachel came from. Tallman followed Mary Jane & Eli to Iowa, so I am hoping there is a photo out there of him to compare mine to.

Yes, he is from the first family. Heinrich adam Kettner arrived with his parnets in 1733 aboard the Charming Betty.

I have a Mary Ann KETNER married to Jonathan Webster WESTOVER in 1829 in Blair County, PA. No exact date of marriage, but she was born in Feb 1809. She had a daughter Mary, born in 1836 who would have been too young for your listing. I do not have the names of her parents.

I also have the following notation, made many years ago:

Mary KETNER and Elizabeth KETNER were cousins
From "Marriages Published in the Reading Adler Newspaper (1811-1820), Reading, Berks County, PA" KANTNER, Adam, to Catharine LEBO, 25 Jan 1818 KANTNER, Michael, to Salma BELLEMAN, 29 Nov 1814ed.

Associated surnames that I have with these KETNERs are:

HOCKENBERRY, BARTO, and STEPHENS.

The marriage for JHMasco's Mary Ann is too early (1829 versus 1850) and in the wrong location (Blair County, PA).

The marriage for taxmomma's Mary Ann is in the correct location (Huntington County, Indana) but the date is too late (1880) and I cannot make the groom's name fit. I would not be surprised if the Mary Ann Ketner is related to the one I seek.

I am working on a FamilySearch Indexing (www.familysearchindexing.org) project to index Indiana Marriages (http://www.familysearchindexing.org/en/projects/Indiana_Marr...).

I am working on Huntington County, Indiana page 80 and have encountered problems with two entries. I realize the project title says 1870-1905, but these entries appear to be for 1850 (actually using sheets printed for 1840).

One entry lists a groom as (most likely Jesse) Mayer, bride as Margaret Malinda Ketner or Kitner, license date of 16 Feb 1850, and wedding date of 17 Feb 1850. The official's surname is likely Browne or Brown, but the given name is difficult to discern.

The next entry lists a bride as Mary (or May) Ann Ketner or Kitner. The groom is listed as William, but the surname is very difficult to discern. The first two spellings (by the clerk?) suggest that the first letter is a J, L or T with the remainder being something like "onard" or "inard". The third spelling (by the pastor or JP) suggest that the first letter might be a D with the remainder possibly being "inard". The license and wedding dates are the same as the first entry. The official could be the same as that for the first entry and may be John R? Brown.

Does anyone know of these Ketners or Kitners? Does anyone know the real name of their grooms?

Old Ketner Photos in Digital Format!

And when I say old, I mean old. I have about 25 old photos and daguerrotypes (1850s through 1900s) of various Ketners from PA, WI, IA and KS. I would be happy to share JPGs of these pictures with anyone who is interested. After all, what is family (even distant, unknown family) for?

About half of these folks have been identified. As for the other half...maybe you can tell me.

Am searching for names of parents, siblings, other extended family members of George Hubbard Ketnor. Born about 1853, died 25 Apr 1923 in Lancaster County VA. Was married to Margaret Brent. HIs son, George Fuller Ketnor, was my grandfather. Census records indicate he was born in Pennsylvania, possibly near Lancaster. Unknown if he was actually born there or immigrated there. Any info appreciated.
