Looking for the family of my 2GGrandfather the Reverend William Kew FLETCHER b 1802, d. Oct. 27 1867 Worthing, son of Thomas FLETCHER of Frampton, Gloucestershire, & Jane Kew.
William married (1) 1 Aug 1832 Penegroes, Montgomery Shire Wales, the author & poet Maria Jane JEWSBURY, b. 25 Oct 1800 Measham, Derbyshire, d. 3 Oct 1833 Poona, India. Married (2) 9 Mar 1835 St. Thomas' Church, Bombay, India, Elizabeth Catherine CARR, b. 1815 Somerset, Wellington d. March 1897 Christchurch, Hampshire, eldest daughter of the Right Reverend Thomas CARR, 1st Bishop of Bombay.
William departed 13 Sept 1832 for India aboard the East Indiaman ship the Victory. He was Chaplain to the East India Company at Bombay, 1832-66, first stationed in Kurrachee, being latterly senior Presidency Chaplain.
