I am researching the Ballyannon (or Ballyannin) Kidneys (18th to 20th century). Family farm
occupied land formerly belonging to Ballyannon Castle built about 1650 by Sir St. John Broderick.
Seeking information about graves in Templecurheen Cemetery (north of Carrigtwohill,
on route to Labaun). One tombstone was erected by David Kidney in honor of his father
Timothy who died July 17th 1838 aged 98 years and his mother Hannah who died
February 2, 1839 aged 96 years. The other tombstone was erected by John Ellen Kidney
in memory of their son John who died March 10, 1841, aged 20 years.
Also seeking information about Philip Kidney from Ballyannon who was transported
to Australia, for his trouble making in connection with Queen Victoria's
visit to Queenstown (now Cobh) during 1849.
