Possibly you will find some connections at this DNA site. It was started back in 2000.

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~firebird/f...

We have German ancestry represented in this project.
DNA study

There is a group in the familytreedna group dedicated to German DNA which I have joined using my brother's DNA, our surname is Kile, we are of German heritage and have hit a brick wall and would like to connect to others with similar DNA. We are not sure of the original spelling of the name so I am posting this to the message boards I think might be of help and want to include themselves in a study. If you have questions feel free to contact me.
Donna

Leona Hamberger Kiel, b.Feb 1902, born Fond du lac Co. and lived Manitowoc Co., WI

I have an original Cabinet Card photograph of “L. Hamberger Kiel”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in Ripon (Fond du Lac Co.) WI.

I found Leona in the 1910 census for Fond du Lac Co., WI living with her parents, Edward (age 33) Hamberger, and wife Wilhelmina (age 27). In 1930, she and her younger brother lived with their mother in same location, but father was not present. I found exact birthdate for Leona Kiel in SSDI, showing she was born 17 Feb 1902, and died as Leona Kiel in Manitowoc Co., WI. I do not have knowledge as to her husband’s first name, but assume he, too, lived and died in Manitowoc Co., WI.

Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to Leona Hamberger Kiel.

Hi Rosina,

It's no problem, I'm just trying to help you get more hits to your query. Your present subject: "father" does not give researchers any clues. If you would put "Peter & Unknown ROTH_KIEL of Buffalo, NY 1950" in the subject line, you'd be giving other ROTH_KEIL researchers Names, Locations and Dates, saving them much time. I'd be more than happy to change the subject line for you. Please let me know: genzen1@prodigy.net

Regards,
Paul

Hi,

I have been researching the Kielma tree and all that I have
is a Stanley Burns (Burzynski) marrying a Nellie Kielmar.
Do not have any names of their children. The Kielma family
is connected to Stachowski family of which I am connected.
Most of this information was acquired from another Kielmar
but the information is quite correct. Let me know if this
is a connection for you. Thanks
Linda S.

Hello Rosina,

I am Rootsweb's ROTH Boards and lists host. I am requesting that you rephrase your query and add more information. Your post had no reference to the ROTH surname. Therefore, I am required to remove it from the board.

If your father's name was Peter KIEL, this is not the board on which to post your query. You should see if Rootsweb has a KIEL Query board and post your query there.

If his name was Peter Kiel ROTH, you should say so in your query. Giving his last known place of residence would help a lot. Also, you should list his birth date and location, if known.

It is best to add as much information as you have. It will make it much easier for other researchers reading your query.

Regards,
Paul

Re: The 2 John C. Kiels you mentioned

What I have is a lot of information (notes, letters, postcards, and some rough drafts copies of some genealogy pages that a distint cousin was putting together on the Kiel family). I have not had a chance to organize them, but hope to do so in the future. I would be happy to pull out what I have and answer any questions I possibly could for you about them. It contains a lot of dates (some approximate and some actual). I have a lot more information on John Cephus, but I do have quite a bit on John Conrad.

The story my family told me is that John Conrad was scalped by Indians while heading to the Gold Rush in the 1850's. My great-grandfather, John Cephus, was very young at the time. Sabrina Capron-Kiel died and is buried in Platteville, Wisconsin. John Cephus Kiel married Frances Wolfkiel. They had 6 children: Charles (he was hers from a previous marriage), Wilbur, Wardell, Pearl, Effie (my grandmother), and George. John Cephus died in 1932. Frances Wolfkiel-Kyle died in 1918. George died in 1914 (he was murdered at the age of 18 by a jealous man of a girl he had met that night). Effie died in 1963.

This is just some of the information that comes to mind of the information I have. I have actual dates on most. Please ask me some specific questions and I will go through my information and see if I can find answers. Hope I can help!

do you know anymore about conrad? my g grandfather was christian kiel, born November 2, 1866 in (probably) Hesse, Germany. On his immigration forms it lists his father's name as Konrad. Christian came to America in May of 1883. I haven't found anything more about Konrad or any possible siblings of my g grandfather. Christian settled in Milwaukee, Wi and worked as a tanner. Do you think this might be the same family? karen schrade

I am searching for information on the family of Friedrich Anton Kiel and Dorothee Grage who settled in Allen County, IN around 1845. I believe they moved to Noble County for a time before the family returned to Allen Co.
It is probable that they had two children, Friedrich Wilhelm Kiel and Wilhelmina Kiel who married Frederick Mueller (Miller).
Friedrich Anton Kiel was born in Winzlar, Hannover and had a sister Friederike who married Christoph Buschmann and also settled in Allen County.

Hello Bev.............I saw your e-mail correspondence in 2001 with Carolyn
Schaefer. My daughter is married to Ken Huizenga the youngest son of Edward
Huizenga and the late Elizabeth Hoeksema Huizenga. Ed, born January 16,
1913, is the son of Obbe Huizenga and Belia Kiel Huizenga, and brother to
your mother, Tillie. I'm trying to put together their tree
as no one else in the tribe seems to be interested since Elizabeth died in
January of 1998 and had given me what she knew.
Can you help me with any info on Obbe and Belia and their children. I am led
to believe your mother's grandparents were Gerrit and Klazina?
My daughter is allegedly the first non Dutch to marry into Ken's family
tree....
