Please could you let me know if you know where in Ireland Anthony Kilkenny was from? I am researching the Kilkenny family from Killeen Townland in Knock Parish Co Mayo. 2 brothers named John and Anthony and also a sister named Margaret emigrated to the USA and lived in Ohio. (Doniphan
County I believe)?

I am descended from these Killeen Kilkenny's and I live in Leeds, England. Any help at all will be very welcome...Thanks, Carol Disley

My husband Robert is the Grandson of Dennis F. Kilkenny. You must be related to him. I have an old photograph of the Kilkenny family if you would like a copy. Below is some of the information that I have on Anthony.

Anthony applied for naturalization in New York on April 9, 1839. He was recommended for naturalization by James Kilkenny. Anthony owned land in Morgan County, Ohio. After his death the family lost for unpaid taxes of $2.40.
lkenny family if you would like a copy.

That is the greatness of the internet. Type in the city and state and fint eh chamber of commerce or city guide. From there, you can either find on the internet the phone number or the phone number calling the local chamber offices.

Once you are contact with them, you can ask for a copy of the certificate mailed to you or contact the local library..where the event occurred. They might be able to give you a article about the event.

Good luck.....
Hi ! If you check www.familysearch.org it will give you the chance to search the 1881 census and you might find some answers on there.

I too am researching Kilkenny's from Mayo in Ireland (Knock Parish) and my G.G Grandfather married in Leeds, England. He was Patrick Kilkenny.

I wish you luck.

Regards, Carol
