Classification: Query
Surnames: Killin Harper Carpenter
I am searching for a William Carpenter that was married to a Mary Killin, She, I beleave, was born sometime early 1800's in Adams county, Ohio. [ I am suspicious of the first name of William Carpenter.]
Her parents was John Killin and Rachel (Harper) Killin
John was born: 8 Mar 1758, Cecil Co., Maryland
He married Rachel Harper: 19 Nov 1797, Adams Co., Ohio
He died: 10 Sept 1844, Adams Co., Ohio
John Killin was a Rev War pensioner (W3694)
No children names was mentioned from what I can read in the Rev War pension file.
Have very little on Rachel Harper. the dates and her age keeps changing on diffrerent census, only two, the 1850 & 1860 census for Adams Coo., Ohio can be referenced. Virginia has been mentioned on the 1850 & 1860 census for her birth place. her daughter Nancy was living with her for those census dates. I beleave that Nancy never married.
Some internet mentions state: Mary Killin, married to William Carpenter, her brothers was William Killin & George Killin and one daughter Nancy Killin was some names associated to Rachel (Harper) Killin.
I am looking for a Rachel Killin born about 1813-1815.
and William Carpenter.
But especially Rachel, She married a William Lindsey/Lindsay
18 March 1836, Greene County Ohio.
Looking for the parents of William Lindsey also.
The John Killin fellow was in Shermans Valley, Cumberland, Pennsylvania when called to war, he later moved to Redstone Settlement in Pennsylvania, then to Mason County, Kentucky for a short while, then to Adams county Ohio from about 1797 til 1844.
