Kimberley relations

Is there anybody out there who has, in their family tree, Leslie Kimberley and/or Suzanne Kimberley (siblings). Leslie and Suzanne were born in, I believe, Cornwall, England. I am hoping that Leslie and Suzanne were grandchildren of Stanley Brinjes who died 1918. Stanley had a sister (Maude) and a brother (Frederick). Through Maude and Frederick there are several second-cousins trying to find our common ancestors and relations. Any information as to Leslie and/or Suzanne (and/or descendants of Leslie or Suzanne) would be much appreciated at my e-mail address Neil.mclean5@googlemail.com

Thank you Kath. We have received the pictures from Damien and have them up on our Myfamily site. We are not as active at this here in Mexico as we used to be, but we do appreciate the help and pictures very much. Once we get back to the USA, we will be more active in research. I am trying to get back to computer research a bit right now, and at least do some updates and tie up loose ends.

Right now, I cannot link my Thomas Kimberley born 1825 to your Albert, either as brothers or cousins. My Thomas Kimberley married Sarah Lenton and is the grandfather of Arthur Kimberley and is the farthest I have traced with some degree of certainty. I BELIEVE the parents of this Thomas are Thomas Kimberley and Mary Ann Bird. I currently list only one known brother for the Thomas Kimberley who is the grandfather of my Arthur Kimberley, a Joseph Kimberley who married a Mary Gilbert. It may be possible that your Albert is a brother or cousin to my Thomas, but I have no link yet. Any connection we have would have to be at that generation or before.

Hello - oh dear, sorry. The only info I have re the Kimberleys is what I've managed to find out via censuses etc, therefore nothing after about 1910. My mother wasn't even aware that her grandmother's maiden name was Kimberley (she died before Mum was born) until I found this out in my research, so I don't suppose I'll be able to find out anything by asking my family. Sorry to be of so little help. I will be visiting the UK in the next couple of months so will ask whether any other family members have any info re the Kimberleys.
Sue

HI there - I see your posting on ancestry was made several years ago, but I haven't been doing this for long so have only just read it. George Kimberley was the brother of my great great grandfather Thomas Kimberley. Do you still need any info about the family, are have you found out all you need to know! I was born in Coventry, moved to nearby Rugby where I grew up, went to London later on and now live in New Zealand. I still have many relatives in Coventry - my parents are both from Stoke which is very close to Foleshill.
Best regards
Sue

I am so sorry it's taken me so long to respond. We've had family illness. I am the Grandaughter of Jack Kimberley, Sr. He was last son born to Temperance and Albert Kimberley. The only info I have on Temperance at the moment is: DOB 9/1850 in Bromsgrove Worstershire England. DOD: 28 Jun 1898 in Norton Cottage Bromsgrove. Marriage to Albert Kimberley on 28 March 1875 in Weslean Chapels Bromsgrove. You may want to check out kimberley-ged.com.

To anyone else who would like to know, Jack Kimberley, Jr., died 12/6/2008 in Livermore, California, USA of Kidney failure and Congestive Heart Failure. A very sad day for us.

If I can help in any way, let me know.

In 1859 were living at 26 Upper Marshall Street celebrating the birth of Emily Charlotte (my great grandmother eventually). He was a Metal Dealers traveller. The birth cert is for St Thomas,Birmingham.
Do you think these are part of your group?
Kimberley - Bromsgrove

My gg grandmother was Theresa (Thursa) Kimberley who was born in Bromsgrove in 1842. Her parents were William and Charlotte Kimberley (nee Pugh) from Bromsgrove. They married in 1841 (Charlotte's surname in the BMD marriage records is Pudge) and moved a few years later to Sedgley, then Wombourn, Staffordshire. I have been unable to establish any further back for either of them, as the 1841 Census records for Bromsgrove are not clear - William appears on the same page as a family of Kimberleys but not at the same address. Charlotte is also 'alone'. Does anyone out there have any information that may be of help?

Kimberley / Brewer alias

I have found that my Kimberley family used both names, switching around the mid 19th century.
William and Rebecca Kimberley were in Bromsgrove, changing their name to Brewer between 1841 and 1851.
Their son William and his wife Charlotte were in Wombourn, the name Brewer is crossed out and replaced by Kimberley in the 1851 census. They were recorded as Kimberley otherwise.
However, William and Charlotte's daughter, Thursa, used the name Brewer in 1861. Nevertheless, the name Kimberley is on her marriage certificate of 1862. Is there anyone out there who knows anything about this?

I believe Esther's suname may have been NORTH. If so, the IGI (www.familysearch.org) shows a marriage for Esther North & Joseph Kimberley on 29 Aug 1822 at Harborne, Staffordshire (now part of Birmingham). IGI also shows a baptism of an Esther NORTH at St Martins Birmingham on 5 Oct 1810, parents William & Esther. Two siblings George & James were baptised the same day, and Thomas North baptised 11 Sep 1801 in Coventry. Esther gave her place of birth as Coventry in various censuses.

They had, to my knowledge 8 children, Martha, Joseph, John, Emma, William, Thirza. Simeon and Thomas the latter of which was my great grandfather. In the 1851 Census Thirza was born in Stourbridge, Worcestershire, in the Civil parish of Wollaston/Amblecote and she is aged 6.

I am trying to find out Esther's surname?

Hello, I'm trying to trace my G-G-Grandfather James William Kimberley, born c.1842 in Camden Town, Middx, England. Married to Harriet, then after her death he married Elizabeth (Weston?). He disappears after the 1881 Census, and I can't find any trace of him. His address there was 237 Bow Common Lane, Middlesex.
Please reassure me that he didn't disappear from the face of the earth! I wonder if he emigrated to another country.
Glenys.
