I don't know if any of this will help you. However, I just came across an old cemetary with a few Kimbell's buried in it. The location of the cemetary is in Mooresville, Alabama. Mooresville was once the capital city of Alabama prior to it becoming a state. I have had contact from another website from another Kimbell ancestor who said that a few North Carolina Kimbell's had moved to Alabama. This migration seemed to coincide with your knowledge.

The names of the Kimbell's I found are: James G. Kimbell August 27, 1811 - April 16, 1861. He was 50. He is the son of an Ann E. Kimbell and a HAM? (H.W?) dates listed are 1841 and 1815 on the stone.

Henry H. Kimball Feb 21st 1815 - July 6, 1878 age 63. It says Father on his monument.
Ann Eliza Kimbell Feb 19, 1823 - Nov. 19 1858 age 35. Has Mother on her stone.
Lawernce Dillard son of H.W. and Ann E. Kimbell April 25, 1816 - July 11, 1816 2 months 19 days. May have been only child.

There are some Gambles buried in the cemetary as well. There are 2 stones I can't read that could be Kimbell or Gamble. They seemed to be the oldest. 1850 is the earliest grave I found that I can confirm.

Maybe this will help someone to trace the lines to Alabama. There is another cemetary a mile down the road that is too grown up to explore. It may have more ancestors in it.

Can this be the William M. Kimbriel who was in Canadian Township, Cleveland County, OK, in 1910 census? His wife at that time was Ethel. They had been married 5 years and had a three year old daughter named Hazel and a daughter named Willie who was under 1 year. Did William marry Dovey as W. M. Kimbreel of Arpelar on 14 Jul 1904 in the Choctaw Nation? Did Dovey die shortly after marriage or did she divorce William? I am fairly certain I can identify William's father.

Hi, Krystal.......I have an ISHAM in my files: I've sort of loosely been tracking his line as collateral to mine. My Isham was born c: 1848 in Randolph Co., AL and is the son of Thomas Kimbrell and Cassie ? His siblings were: John T., Robert A., Mary Jane and Joseph W. Thomas was born in about 1808 in SC, and died in Randolph Co., abt. 1865. Don't have Thomas's fathers name, just that they were in the Spartanburg area and his wife's name was Elizabeth and he had a brother named John. Hope this fills in a blank or two........I'm probably going to delete them from my records soon, since I can't make any connection to anybody in my line, so it's a good thing you caught me. I'm also sending your message along to Terri Kimbrel Saturday: we can't prove our relationship, either, but have arbitrarily "decided" we're cousins! She has done a lot of SC research and may have more..........Pat

David was born January 29, 1809 in NC according to census records. I have no records on David's parents that can be verified.

Your David is probably my David. Please send me everything you have on Rebecca. You will be receiving an invitation to my family web site where you will find more on David.

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to find out more about my ggg-grandfather John Kimbriel. He is believed to have been born ca. 1802 in SC. He moved to GA in the 1830's and married Julia Ann Hayes in Harris Co. GA 1840. They end up in Randolph Co. AL. John disappears from records after 1860, but Julia is still alive in 1870. I have their children if someone is interested. Thanks!

Joshua

Ralph:

In case you're interested, I noticed a Joshua Kimbril on the Kimbrell family message board that references John and Julia Kimbriel. It sounds like the same couple that you mention in your message.

I'm researching Ranson Kimbrel (b. 1822) of Bibb County, Alabama and later Jefferson County, Alabama. I'd appreciate any information if you've come across that name in your research.

Angela

I would like to know some information on my family tree. My father's name was Loyce James Kimbriel. He was born in Guthry, Oklahoma. He said he had 6 brothers and 6 sisters.
I met one of his brothers, his name was Virgil. My father was born around 1902. He told me his father got thier property in the Oklahoma land rush.
My father said that his Grandfather was in the Civil War. I don't know where they came from but would like to know.

Need your help and advice

This may be an unusual use of a message board, but here goes. I've been stumped with my gggf, John Kimbrell, SC to N. GA about 1820, married Rhoda Rice. I decided to just capture anything remotely relevant and see what clicked into place: finally, something has but I need to know if I'm seeing ghosts, or if you researchers out there (all with more experience than I have, I'm sure) feel I've made a good guess / connection.

I had found the parents of my ggf, Leonard C. Kimbrell (John and Rhoda) and their marriage certificate. That gave his middle initial as H. so I went with that. Because of this, I was at a dead-end: couldn't find a way back to his family across the border in SC. Just the other day, ANOTHER John ran across my research: John R. (SC to GA), father William (SC), grandfather LEONARD (NC). Leonard is a repeated name in my line and no-where else except occasionally in the MA/NH line way back when. Following that thought, I took a hard look at John R.: all the dates match and he DISAPPEARS from SC at the same time MY John appears in N. GA.

We all know how often transcribed records or a census taker have mistaken an initial or the spelling of a last name: to the transcriber, it looks like one thing, but different to someone else.

What I need to know is this: DO YOU THINK I would be justified, at least for the present, since everything seems to fit, in assuming that this is the correct line? If there are researchers out there on John R (William, Leonard, Benjamin A., William, Joseph in MA) who think I'm wrong, PLEASE let me know. If you think I'm justified ALSO let me know: I need to break the deadlock once and for all so I can move forward.

Email me at pkimbrellp@netscape.net.

Thanks.....and I really DO want input from EVERYONE!
