"ANDERSON, SC -- Mr. Clinton Holmes Kimel, 83, formerly of Winston-Salem, NC, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, at Anderson Medical Center in Anderson. Mr. Kimel was born Sept. 25, 1922, in Forsyth County to Albert Barney and Elsie Holmes Kimel. He was educated in the public schools of Winston-Salem and was a life member of Trinity Moravian Church. During World War II, he served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Mr. Kimel was retired from Ingersoll-Rand of Mocksville in September 1987. In 1997, he and his wife, Carolyn, moved to Anderson to be with their son and daughter-in-law. Mr. Kimel was an avid marksman, and he loved animals., especially horses, dogs, and birds, which he showed and was an award winner throughout the country.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Heitman Kimel, of Anderson; a son, Clinton Holmes Kimel, Jr., and wife, Debby, also of Anderson; and a brother, Doughlas G. Kimel, and wife, Lucille, of Winston-Salem.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today, Dec. 21, 2005, in the Salem Moravian Graveyard, officiated by the Rev. John Jackmon.
Vogler & Sons Main Street Chapel is in charge of the arrangements."
