I had the whole Kindness tree but my hard drive died on my computer!! No backup - there is definately a moral to this story.

I am about to try and recreate from my written records so if you like I will get send it over, but give me time. Do you have any information on your Kindess routes?

John Born 21 June 1875 - St N Aberdeen
Mary Jane Born 24 Jan 1877 - St N Aberdeen
Georgina Born 26 Dec , Old Machar Aberdeen
Alice Helen Born 9 Sept 1882 Old Machar

Mary Jane - Mother Elspet Blake Father James Clark

Unfortunately that is all I have - I cannot tie this family up with any of the other kindnesses

Hi Hayley I am chasing the Kindness tree. I have a George Kindness born abt 1920 married to Mary Ord with son James Kindness Born in 1851 in Macduff Banff. James maried Mary Jane Clark b 1848 Monquhitter Aberdeen on 12 Jan 1872in Monquhitter. If this family is in your tree I would be most appreciative of any information.

If you are a KINDNESS you are related to Layton KANISTANAUX, born Kindness he made up that name
It is a small family and you are one of few;
Layton m to MY GG Grandmother Mar Le Ah MOULTON,
they had no children together but he raised her 2 grandsons as his own and gave them the name of KANISTANAUX;
all of that name are from his name
and all trace back to this Chautauqua Co NY
And MY G Grandmother;

I'm not sure if this relates to your branch at all (pun intended) but there is a Kindness family from among the Brothertown tribe of Indians, originally from New York State and then which had migrated to Wisconsin in the 1830s and 1840s.

George Kindness was born 1793, and died 19 May 1875 in North Towie Turner, Auchterless. He married Isabella Shirran, daughter of Alexander Shirran and Isabel Shirran. She was born 1794, and died 17 April 1858 in North Towerturner, Auchterless. George Kindness' parents were James Kindness and Elizabeth Milne. I am looking for more info on Mary Ann Findlater b. 1834 who married Alexander Kindness b. 1826. Alexander Kindness was the son of George Kindness and Isabella Shirran. Hope this info is of help, would like to have any more info you might have on Mary Ann Findlater. Thanks

Isabella Shirran Kindness b.1875; Isabella's parents were Alexander Kindness b.1826 and Mary Ann findlater b.1834; Alexander's parents were George Kindness b. 1793 and Isabella Shirran b.1794; George's parents were James Kindness & Elizabeth Milne, dates unknown.
Isabella Shirran Kindness had a brother George Kindness b. 1857. I am trying to determine if he emmigrated to Australia. Also,if you have any further info on the Kindness family, would appreciate receiving it. Thanks very much.

My grandfather was William Christmas Hobson Kindness born in Armagh, Ireland. My father has always known that he had an aunt named Martha or Mary Seeds (married name)

I'm new to this board and am overwhelmed by the messages!

I too would love to get a copy of the Family Tree and here's what I can add (not sure if it will help):

My Paternal grandfather was William Christmas Hobson Kindness, born in Armagh on 9 March 1883 to parents John Kindness and Mary Jane (O'Hara) Kindness.

My father thinks his dad had a sister named Martha or Mary Seeds (married name).

If you find that this connects, I can fill in the info on my dad and his brothers and sister and their descendents.

Very interested in seeing Kindness family tree. Have tried to trace Kindness back but can only get so far! I know that there are/were many Kindness' in Aberdeenshire - now Kindness' in West Coast of Scotland!

Hello - I have definately come accross these 2 names but I dont think they are in my direct tree - but I would bet that they are in there somewhere

Great to hear that you have the Kindness Family Tree. I would much appreciate a copy of it, if that is possible?
My Grand Father was John Kindness, from Oyne, and he went to work out in Asia. He was followed out there by my father, Gordon Kindness, when he came of age and his brother (Hugh) became a Doctor in the South of England.
I am engaged to get married next year and I would love to find out more about my/our Family Tree, and the origin of the surname Kindness.

I am interested in finding out more about the Kindness family tree. My Grandmother was Mary Kindness (b.1891) (married James Nicol) daughter of Andrew Kindness(b.1849) & Maggie Whyte from Gardenstown area.
His father & mother were Andrew Kindness and Anne Scott married in 1841. They were farm servants at Minnonie outside Gardenstown. Thank you Margie Walser
