I am at my wits end to find the parentage of the founder of King Ranch in Texas. The little bit of data I have is this.

Richard King Born 1825 in Orange County, New York. Fought in the Mexican War and took up piloting of a steamboat on the Rio Grande. After the war he went into partnership with Mifflin Kenedy. King purchased the Santa Gertrudis Land Grant in 1852. He died in 1885 in Texas.

If ANYONE can help with his genealogy I would greatly appreciate it. And yes I have tried contacting the King Ranch- but they have been very silent. I have also tried the LDS- and several other "sources" to no avail.

Thanks
