Roger, thank you for your response to my inquiry. Yes, I am a Kingman decendant from S. C. My father was James Elmore Kingman and my grandfater was Henry Lester Kingman. Lester, as he was called, was from Columbia. He was a Methodist minister then President of Spartanburg Methodist College. My father, Jim Kingman, was the sports director and sports anchor for WSPA TV in Spartanburg in the 1960's. My mom has our Kingman Family Bible which I will be picking up next month. She says it has family tree data back to the 1800's. I think my branch of the family may have originally settled in Charleston, but I hope to learn more from the family bible.
