John Owen Kingrey
John Owen Kingrey died Saturday afternoon in his home at 420 South Steele Street. He was born in Virginia on May 11, 1874, and married Miss Sulie E. Lucas in Roanoke County Virginia, on Christmas eve fifty-nine years ago. The family lived in Virginia for several years, later moving to California and coming to Olympia in 1909. Mr. Kingrey owned and operated a blacksmith shop in Olympia for many years. He later operated a garage here and prior to his retirement operated logging trucks. He was a member of the Christian Church for forty-one years.
Surviving are his wife, Sulie Kingrey, Olympia; a son, Chester Kingery, Bremerton; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Nolf, Seattle; Mrs. Vicie Hamann, Tacoma, and Mrs. Betty Glavin, Olympia; a sister Mrs. John Blankenship, Roanoke, Virginia; two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held in Mills and Mills chapel this Tuesday morning, starting at eleven o'clock. Burial will take place in Odd Fellows Cemetery. The Reverend Richard Wenger will officiate.
