His mother was Nellie White and after william's father died Nellie remarried to a person named Kings. Nellie had a second family , Leslie J Kings still alive, Audrey Kings and Charles Kings. They may all still live in the Catshill-Bromsgrove area. I am looking for information on Nellie so amy information would be of great use to me as I live half around the world from England

Hi,
I am a Kings from England and I have done a fair bit of research on our name. I originate from Essex and East London (Barking). Going back though, we came from Worcestershire. I have a tree posted on Genes reunited which I am happy to make available to you, if you are members. If not, and I can work out how to do it, Ill upload one onto Ancestry! I have just tied in with Martin Kings on Genes and his tree (and now mine) goes back to 1620. As the name with the 's' is so rare, I suspect somewhere along the line ther is a good chance we are related. All we need to do is find that connection!!! Easy!

Do reply and let me know what you have. In the meantime Ill try and upolad onto Ancestry.

All the best

Andrew Kings

Ps I now live in Javea, Spain

Kings/Kingsburys in Maine

I am a descendant of Louis Kingsbury (b. 1821 in Quebec, d. 1897 in Belgrade, Maine). I have been unable to determine his ancestry, and several relatives tell me that it is because Louis's father used a different surname.

I recently made contact with a descendant of Louis, who says:

According to my grandmother, the original name was KINGS. An ancestor of Lewis (possibly his mother?) was the daughter of the Royal Chancellor to England in the colony of Maine. The daughter fell in love with a frenchman by the name of SRFREMROIS [I'm assuming that this is misspelled since I can't find any record of such a name]. The father / Chancellor asked his son-in-law to take the name Kings. The name was later changed to Kingsbury.

This sounds pretty far-fetched to me... Is anyone aware of a chancellor in colonial Maine who had the surname KINGS...?

Wilf:

I have checked and cannot find a connection at the moment. Since the Kings name in my family came from a female line I stopped looking once Mary Ann Kings married James Banner in 1814. I have been trying to get back and hope someday to have the time to go forward. If you ever get back into the 1800's with the name in Bromsgrove please contact me and hopefully we can find a connection. I have quite a bit of information on Bromsgrove including the 1851 census so if I can be of help to you e-mail me at ebahry@home.com

I am researching my family name of KINGS I have so far traced them back to 1737. My family came from CRADLEY in HEREFORDSHIRE England. I was born in London and there are a lot of Kings in London, not traced any relatives in London yet.
I have to say that I thought the name was rare until I started tracing my tree.

Re: Kings

Hi William,
I am running into a brick wall trying to find any information about our family name "Kings". All the information if for "King" listed as the plural "Kings". I wish the "KING" people would use "KING" and make it easier for us.

We've just started a frustrating search for our family history. I can only find the name of Betrice Kings born in 1899 and died in Illinois in 1973. She had a son named Francis born in 1930 or 1931. We belive Beatrice was Catholic but I haven't found any church records so far (I'm still looking).

Do any of these names ring a bell to you? Any suggestions about any resources for Kings?

Thanks so much,
Marla Todd Kings
marla@nevermt.com
Surname: Kings (not King)

I'm looking for any connections to people with the last name "Kings" (NOT King).

We have run into dead ends due to too many family secrets conflicting information. Right now our family tree is just a small sprout.

Our only names are Beatrice Kings (married name) born in 1899 and died in 1973 in Illinois. Her son Francis Joseph Kings born December 2, 1930 (or around this date) and his son Stephen Kings born 1963 in PA. Francis (Frank) was married to a Rose Barnett (she may have gone by Cos or another last name) in the early 60's. Rose's son from a previous relationship was named William and now goes by William or Bill Kings (he now lives in Las Vegas and has no information). Bill's father was belived to be a Turkish national and is believed to have dies in the 1950's.

We would like any information about where people named "KINGS" came from. We hear they might have been English, Irish or German. Beatrice told Stephen that her family was German, but he was a very small child at the time and doesn't remember the details. We would like to know when they came to the USA and if there are any living relations we don't know about.

We belived Beatrice was Catholic. We also belive her husband may have been a farmer or involved in agriculture. We also belive Beatrice might have had several other children, including at least one daughter who became a nun.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. I've posted a photo believed to be Frank and Stephen Kings at www.nevermt.com
marla@nevermt.com

I'm not sure if I can make a connection yet because we've just started our search for people with the last name Kings.

I'm looking for any information about anyone with the surname "Kings", especially Beatrice Kings (born 1899) and her children.

Do you find searches for "Kings" family members frustrating too because of people with the name "King" listing it as Kings?

Thank you

Hi
I have just started to look into my genealogy, and saw your details on the Bromsgrove Kings,
I am from Bromsgrove (Catshill actually) and my mother is a Kings (Marjorie Norah). Her Father was William Thomas (B 1882) married to Mary Elizabeth Rush (B 1883). Williams father was Thomas Kings (B 1856) married to Harriet Smallwood (B1856). His father was Joe Kings.....and there I stop at the moment. I have lots of sibling names if you need anything at this time point....let me know.
Also, if any of this is matched with your info, I would appreciate the chance to swap details.

Roger Davies rogdavies@aol.com
