I'm looking for more info on these two shipping tycoons, more especially who their daughters married. My grandmother's uncle, Francis E Smith (b. 1825) was owner of a flour mill in Brooklyn and was a bit of a social climber. HIs son's name was Kingsland Smith (b. 1860). By 1900, he was referred to as Kingsland Kingslandsmith. My thought is that Francis probably had married a Kingsland girl, and probably she was not the daughter of Sam Kingsland the iceman.
