I understand the name means man who had white hair. That is from the CELTIC. The name comes from De Kenyon. In other words they are from the town of Kenyon In Lancashire Englan.

I am searching for information on my gg grandfather. I believe he may have lived in Colesburgh, Delaware, Iowa, between 1830 and 1850. He married a Melissa Phelps 30 Jun 1843 in Colesburgh, Delaware, Iowa. He may have come to Iowa because of the early lead mining. The couple later settled in Lafayette, Wisconsin. He may have to come Iowa with an older brother by the name of Edward Kinion. I see that there are a lot of Kinions in Iowa. COLUMBIA BASIN HERALD, MOSES LAKE, WASHINGTON STATE

A 20-year resident of Coulee City, Billy R. Kinion passed away Feb. 9, 2007. He was 79 years old.

Bill is survived at home by his loving wife, Hazel (Kilburn), of 61 years; his sons Marcus of Coulee City, Michael and his wife Wanda of Seattle, and Miles of Everett; grandchildren Chris and Jill (Kinion) Travis, James and Becky (Kinion) Lucci, Jason and Alison (Kinion) Mitchell, Aaron and Nicole Kinion, BJ Kinion, and Kristopher Kinion; great-grandchildren Riley Travis, Claudia Travis, Tyler White-Lucci, Ethan Lucci, Kyleight White-Lucci, Jacob Mitchell, and Ashley Mitchell; one aunt and numerous neices and nephews.

At Bill's request there will be no service. He is surely missed by his family and friends and we are grateful for his life. His community of Coulee City will fondly remember him for his unique display of handmade birdhouses seen when entering town and his well cared for variety of birds and animals.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to cancer research or to the Coulee City Volunteer Fire Department.

hi, im trying to find any relatives from the kinion family. i never met my father but he is melvin dale kinion. i know he had children all over the states, i found bruce kinion in colorado,which is where the kinions originated from in my family, he is my half brother, any one else out there?????

hi leslie, i am very interested in the kinion family book. i am a lost kinion searching for family. my father is melvin dale kinion of colorado. dont know where the rest are from i have never met him,but he had kids all over the states(military), i was born in kansas but live with my mothers mother my whole life in arizona, have recently talked with md kinion but he is 82 and not well. any infor is appreciated thanks cheri kinion.

Hello!
My name is Beverly and I am tracking down my gggrandmother's side the Kinion's. Her name was Susanna, daughter of John M. Kinion and Rachel, as stated in her obituary. Here comes the problem. Her obituary and family folklore says that her father John was killed during the Civil War and her mother Rachel traveled with John's brother William Riley Kinion and Eliza Francis East to Texas. On the way, Rachel died of a fever and was buried in the trail, with the wagons running over her grave. Susanna was raised by her uncle William and aunt Eliza. The 1870 census lists her living with her uncle and aunt. I am really confused, how can John Marcus, the only son of William Riley Senior named John die in the war and then marry a second wife. Susanna was the only child of John and Rachel. Ah. Ah. Ah. Help! Can you? Thank you

I think she still lives in the Chino area. I don't know her personally but she is somewhere down the line in my family. I think my grandpa was her uncle. Someone who might know her where abouts is my aunt, Shirley Winterswyck. She lives in Cucamonga. Her # is 909-463-4770. Good luck.

Hi, I'm looking for a Vivian Kinion that graduated from Chino High School in 1976. Her mother was from Arkansas and her married name was Alvarez I believe. I was her friend in High school. I live in central Wisonsin. Might you know her?

My ggggrandfather was Kinion Watson. I have located a Polly Kinion, dau. of Benjamin Kinion in Lenoir Co. NC. Also, in the 1850 Census I found a widow named Polly Watson living two houses down from Kinion and her age was 75 which would be the right time frame. If any Kinions out there know if they have an ancestor who married into the Watson family, pls let me know.

My g-g-grandmother was Mary Jane Kinion. I believe this family can be found in Lincoln Co, MO. Her husband, William Henry McClellan was from Lincoln Co. You may know this already. I believe Mary's mother was Mary Jane Jones.

Wm. Bailey, was my husband's father.

Hi Vicki, My grandfather was John Monroe Kinion, born in Washinton county AR, married to Nora Paschal. They both moved to Chino, Ca about 1937 and yes, my grandpa died around 1966. Looking for information on my GG Grandmother. Her name was Margaret L. ??? We believe it was Kinion. She married Louis (or Lewis) Wiseman around 1867 in Cape Girardeau County Missouri. Margaret L. was born in Missouri, Dec. 25, 1848 and died Aug 07, 1917. She is buried with her husband at the Clubb Creek Church, Bollinger County, Mo. Thank you so much for this information. Yes, I am related. William McClellan & Mary Kinion were my g-g-grandparents. Their daughter, Ella Frances, was my g-grandmother. I have been researching the McClellan name most of the time and just recently found family members in Oklahoma who gave me Mary Kinions name. Do you have any info on the McClellan side? Try the 1900 census for RI, Providence County. I copied it about six years ago when I was in Salt Lake City. However it is a terrible copy. Now I can't remember if it really had Ambrose on it but it must have or I don't think I would have kept it. Anyhow what I can read is: Patrick Kinion, born 1848 in Scotland, parents both born in Ireland. married to Catherine born ? in Connecticut, parents both born in Ireland. . Patrick is listed as an insurance agent. I have given up on looking for this family. I was told they may have also lived in Fall River MA.
