My first findings of John L. Kinnaird b:1806 in Tennessee were posted wrong. John L. Kinnaird was not born in 1784 as it was listed in Ancestry.com. The Census records show he was born in 1806 in TN and there is an unknown period in his life until the late 1830's when the tax records are found in Hempstead County, Arkansas. He probably had a life in Tennessee before 1847 when he married the widow of David Pursley who was killed in the Mexican War. John L. married Elizabeth Harriott Pursley Kinnaird b: 1808 in South Carolina in 1847 in Hempstead County, Ark. Please contact me if you know any connection to my John L. Kinnaird with any of the Pennsylvania, Virginia, or Tennessee Kinnaird's. I am now trying to connect my John L. to George Kinnaird b: abt.1740 in Perth, Scotland. George had a son William b:1782 in Culpeper Co. Va. His dates and marriage would fit John L.'s dates, except John L. states he was born in TN.
