When I was there in 1994, I read a pamphlet that it was named after Jacob KINTNER and his son HUgh, who was a sheriff and it is a well known old family name.
Check with the Doylestown library and the Bucks Co., historical and genealogical society. The KINTNER family was well known in the Nockamixon and Trinicum areas that I think are townships.
Good luck! I hope this helps!
