Sorry so long to reply, was away from home for a visit. My original question is confusing I think as I reread it.
I am trying to find out WHO Francis Ruff's mother married as her second husband. The only clue I have is a "Sketch of the life of Francis Ruff by Levi Bishop given to the Michigan Pioneer Society in 1874", "She married as her second husband, my Uncle of the late, Major Robert Forsyth, and was killed in a fall from a horse near St Louis when she was in her 80's.
There was a Major Thomas Forsyth who had a brother Robert. They were half brothers to John Kinzie, along with three others. I have not been able to locate Levi Bishop,or what his relationship is to Francis Ruff.
Could his mother eithor have married eithor a Kinzie or Forsythe I had a researcher look about in St. Louis, who found info about Robert A Forsyth, but nothing about the Mother.
I still think that somehow Francis Mother is related eithor to a Forsyth or Kinzie as he was still alive when the Sketch was presented and probably heard it or about it in 1874 when it was given.
