B. Joanne Cordova, 68, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 1998. Joanne was born October 17, 1929, the daughter of Robert Lee and Betty Lucille Whiteside Kious in Rock Island, Illinois. Joanne had been a registered nurse before she retired. She had been a charter member of the Titanic Historical Society. Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Daniel E. Cordova; her parents; sister, Mary Holly. She is survived by her children, Daniel Cordova of Albuquerque, and Elizabeth Wright and husband, Larry of Las Vegas, NV; one sister, Janelda Hogan of Las Cruces, NM; three grandchildren, Kaitlin, Emily and Ben of Las Vegas, NV; and many nieces and nephews. The service for Joanne will be held on Thursday, July 23, 1998, 2:00 p.m., at St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Ned Ross as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Dr. Daniel E. Cordova Scholarship Fund at UNM or to the Menaul School. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, Rio Rancho.
