Cordelia Elizabeth Kiper. She was supposedly a Cherokee woman, born around 1885 in Kentucky. She married George Washington Shipp and they had 6 children. The children were John Howard, James Rupurt, George Edward, Frank Smiley, Sara Elizabeth, and Frances Ellen. They children were taken from their parents and adopted out around 1920 in the St Louis, Mo area. The children were born between the years of 1906 and 1918.

Jacob KIPER. Jacob Kiper volunteered for service at Shephardsville, KY
and served from August 25, 1813 to November 8, 1813 under General William
Harrison. He took part in the Battle of the Thomas in Upper Canada.

Jacob and Betsey were buried on the Sam Hamilton farm near the Beauchamp
bridge on Rough River. When Rough River Lake was formed about 1958-1959
these graves were moved to the Eskridge Cemetery near the state park.
Later, Kiper descendants erected a nice monument and embedded the original
markers in the cement on the graves.

He was married to Elizabeth (Betsey) QUICK (daughter of Andrew QUICK and B.
?) on Jan 25 1804 in Bardstown, KY. They were married by Joshua L. Wilson.
Jacob KIPER and Elizabeth (Betsey) QUICK had the following children:

+5 i. Andrew KIPER.
+6 ii. Mary (Polly) KIPER.
7 iii. Simpson KIPER.
8 iv. Nancy KIPER.
9 v. Cynthia KIPER.
10 vi. John KIPER.

Hello all,
My name is Kevin Kiper. My family is from louisville, ky. I know my grandfather is James Raplh Kiper. I only met him once when I was about 5 years old. He was in the final stages of cancer. This was about 30 years ago. My father, John Stephan Kiper never talks about his fathers side of the family. I am looking to find cousins, aunts or uncles to reconnect this side of the family. Also, my wife and sons are looking to move to leitchfield, ky within the next 6 months. Can anyone please help?

Hi,my name is Kim Kiper. My father's name was Albert R. Kiper. Most people called him RED!!I know I heard my dad speak of Harold. I'm thinking uncle! There was also Coleman and Chester!! I think most of the people I'm talking about did live in Louisville,KY.I also had two uncle's named Hank and Kenny! We are just beginning to trace our tree and I am unsure of the "Mary" yet, but there is a Jefferson Kiper (Smiley) who is my uncle (late). I don't know if there is any relation between us yet. Any other info you have would be greatly appreciated as we are attempted to trace our Cherokee heritage.

hi, my name is rick kiper i live in anderson ind. my father was albert w. kiper from carrolton, ky. he had a cousin name harold kiper who had a brother named forrest kiper who died in anderson when i was young.this may be your grandfather.
i spent alot of time with harold when i was a boy.he was a good man ,(he drank a bit much),lol but he had a good heart and enjoyed the time we spent together.
i last seen him at a family reunion in th early 90's at butler state park in carrolton.
i have a cousin in carrolton name lynn aldridge that may be able to further your search if this is the same man

Cassie 'Cassa' married Harrison Allen bef 1837, and had issue. She then married William 'Billy' Bates.

It is one of the issue of her first marriage that I am trying to find data on, but found I really had nothing on Cassie either. Can you help?

Silas Kiper was born 1Sep1850, the son of William Kiper and Mary Bates.

Silas was the first son of this couple, just under the oldest child, Elizabeth(b.1848). After Silas there was John(1852), Franklin(1855), Cassie Bates and William B.(1859), Loran(1862).

William Kiper was the son of Jacob Kiper and Elizabeth Quick, and had seven other siblings.

Jacob Kiper was the son of Frederick Kiper and Elizabeth ?. This Frederick has been referred to as "George Frederick", though I'm not sure where the George comes from. I, personally, know of him only as Frederick through the census reports, land grants, and family records. Elizabeth was known as 'Eliza', but her surname has not been proven to me.

I hope these tidbits help you in your search. I may have further information to aid you.....

You don't have to include the names of the living, just put Living Sponenberg. Also if any one can help me on the matter:
Is the Sponenberg's in NY part of the ones in Columbia County, PA?????

I am thinking when the Unknown Sponenberg came here from Germany in 1780, that he had a sibling with him and the started their roots in NY????????

Georgia Ann Kiper, was my great great grandmother. She had 2 boys that I know of

1. Alvin L. Sponenberg, B: April 13, 1913, D: Nov. 29, 1991

2. Robert William Sponeberg Sr., B: July 24, 1923, D: in 1998.

Robert was my Grandfather. Any more info you would like I will be more than happy to help.

old family plantation?

I am looking for anyone who might know anything about some of the items listed in a letter from my grandfather (Theodore Bruce Kiper) to my grandmother (Loretta Maxine Litchfield) back in June, 1937:

"...got to Gilbert at 11:00 after having stopped at Monroe for a few minutes..."
"Just after dinner we struck out for the Piney Hills. I have always wanted to go back to the old Cutter Place which is (or was) my great-great-great-grandad's on my grandmother's side. It is only a partly open field which trees have grown upon since it was abandoned...some of the trees are over a foot in diameter; some are right where the homestead stood. There is no sign of the house left except rocks where the chimney used to stand.
The way we got there was to drive to miles off the road to an old negro's home and continue a foot from there, the negro was out guide, we walked for five miles deep back in to the hills. On the way we stopped by to look over the sight of the old academy and school. All of these places were built long before the war except the school which was built during the war to keep the Yankees from finding the women and home folks. There are a number of these old places hidden away in the hills but nothing to show mostly but decayed homemade bricks and broken pottery.
We got back to the negro's place at 7:00 after walking steady for 5 hours.
This morning we went out to the old Lewe's Planation. The house is still standing and only a negro family living there now. It is an extra large three story house, all home made. The lumber was all hand cut and split by slaves. Below the house inthe foundation which is made of handmade bricks is where they kept the mean and runaway slaves. The hooks and rings are still in the walls."
My grandfather's grandmother was Sarah "Sallie" Amanda Carter, d/o Elias Carter. I figure by the number of "great's" in my grandfater listed, the house he refers to possibly belonged to the father of Elias Carter, Sr who was married to Lucy Duke.

Looking for any info.on William Arthur Kiper,and His Brother Paul Kiper I was told there Father Name was Charlie But I am not real sure of that, they were raised up in an orphans Home. William Arthur lived for many years in Claremore until his death....Paul lived in Pryor until his death.
William and Paul were in Salt Lake City, Utah orphanage.They were believe to have lived in Yates Center,Kansas.

I am looking for any information about a Victoria Kiper, also known as Queen Victoria Kiper. She was a Cherokee from Oklahoma and had four brothers. She married a Robert Bell somewhere in Missouri and died at La County Hospital in 1948 or 49. She Had three children, Mildred,John, and Robert.
The name Kiper may have been an assumed one by her Indian family but I don't know.
