Hi
I am trying to sort out the relationship between Albert, & JW Kippax and George Richardson who won the VC medal. In an article I found on George it states that Albert and JW were his only relatives in Canada at the time of his death in 1923. It lists them as being his grand nephews.
In the 1901 census I have found what I believe to be my Albert and JW as Children of Edward Kippax and Annis.
Prior to this I find an Edward Kippax marrying an Annie Richardson.
Could this Edward and Annie be the Edward and Annis of the 1901 census?
To further complicate the issue Albert's second wife was Alva Richardson, (maybe a cousin?) and when his son Harold from his first marriage emigrated to the US to live with his father he lists his mother as Annis Kippax.
This family is extremely confusing. I have three different birth dates for Albert. His army papers say he was born in 1882, his gravestone says 1883 and his sons John's (Jack) birth certificate has him being born 1869/70.
When my husband was born his father insisted that he be named Albert Edward, he said his name was Albert Edward and his father's name was Albert Edward and his father's name was Albert Edward so his son was going to be Albert Edward.
So we have at least 4 Albert Edwards in a row, though the first born son wasn't always named Albert Edward but one of the sons always was.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on this tangle I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks
Kim
