Anna Shambaugh Cogsil was my grandmother and I have just started researching my family tree. I am able to do pretty good finding info about my the Shambaugh/Cogsil side of the family but would love to find information about my father, James F. Litzenberg, who was "adopted" by Abraham and Dora Litzenberg sometime between 1920 and 1930. My Dad always though he was born in Circleville, OH but I have been unable to locate any records since I do not know what his birth name might have been.

I have sent a request for adoption file information to the Henry County, Ohio Probate Court since that is where Abraham and Dora Litzenberg resided.

Any suggestions as to how I might proceed would be greatly appreciated.
