Gilbert Lee (Burt) Kirk was William Irison Kirk's brother. They, along with their sister, Eliza Jane, were the children of Garrett Kirk and Mary Ann (Polly) Kirk. All three children were born in Jackson County, AL.
Garrett Kirk was the first child of Samuel H. Kirk. We do not have the name of Samuel's first wife who was Garrett's mother
Samuel Kirk was born in Cecil County, Maryland in 1780. It cannot be proven by documentation but appears that his father was Garret Kirk.
Most of what I know of the Kirk's from William Irison Kirk back I have learned from my second cousin, Don Kirk, who has researched the family line for about 35 years.
