I am submitting a supplemental application to the DAR for James Kirk soon, but am wondering if anyone has documented proof on his birthdate. The previous DAR records list it as 4 Nov 1759. I could go w/ that, but I had heard he was buried on the back of his property and that his tombstone reads as something different. Has anyone seen it? Descendant of their son, Jesse Kirk> John Gray Kirk> Mary Frances Kirk Wisner who was my gggrandmother. Hello- I am also looking for Kirks, from Indiana Tennessee. Mine start with Alfred Kirk (b.1811 or 1813 TN), married a Louisa Thomas (b. 1818 KY) in 1836 in Owen Cty.Indiana. They went on to have five children, all born in Owen County. Their names are Joseph (1840), Cyntha (1843), Susan (1846),Mary (1847) and Hester (1853). My line continues with Hester. I'm stuck on Alf! I have death dates for everyone and plenty of info to share! I just can't seem to get back any further. Anyone got anything!?! Help! I hate these brick walls!

I am looking for more information on a Samuel Kirk. He was born in England in September of 1867, and had a wife named Ida and children named Howard, Ethel, and Harvey. I believe that he moved to America around the age of twenty.
I have looked in the English records for him, but Samuel Kirk appears to have been a rather popular name in England at that time, and I'm not sure which records really refer to him.
Any help in locating more information would be much appreciated!

I am researching KIRK families in Cecil County, Maryland.

My ancestor Alexander KIRK was born about 1803. He married Christiann BRISTOW (1829) and Eliza Ann MADDEN (1850) and had several children with each wife.

He and his descendants settled in Chesapeake City (and nearby areas). Many were members of Bethel ME Church and were buried in Bethel Cemetery. I do not believe my KIRK ancestors were Quakers.

I am searching for information about Alexander KIRK’s parents, grandparents, any siblings, and their descendants. I’m trying to determine whether he had a connection to the other KIRK families that settled in the area.

I am looking for other KIRK researchers who are willing to exchange information.

My brick wall?James Kirk dob 1883 Stirling,no trouble here can follow the line back.It starts when he marries Jane Mckay dob 1874 Stirling,they married 2.4.1902 age 28 in Stirling. on the m/certificate it says she was a widow previously a Reid.She married James Reid 11.12.1893 age 25,bit of a pork pier me thinks.so far i can trace 3 children with james,my grandfather James Philp Kirk dob 1903,John Mckay Kirk dob 1905 died 2 weeks later,and Cecilia Kirk dob 1907.But i cant find any thing else about Jane my uncle says the story goes Jane got murdered on Stirling Common and the children went into care dont know what dates tryed looking and cant find what happened to James no death certs on Scotlands people i have spent a fortune looking.My g/father joined the army and came to Plymouth,died in ww2.So if any of you out there have a Cecilia could have been adopted in there tree or know anything even remote please get in touch. FREDA KIRK-BURNHAM

Freda Alberta Kirk-Burnham, 97, passed away peacefully Feb. 9, 2008, in Hesperia, after a brief illness. She was born Oct. 18, 1910, in Muleshoe, Texas. She came to Long Beach at age 3 and resided in Long Beach for 88 years. She then moved to Apple Valley, where she lived for the past six years.
Freda was executive secretary for the Shell Refinery in Willington for 40 years. She was a former member of Toastmistresses in Long Beach and a past grand matron of Eastern Star.
At age 80, she married Dalora (Dee) K. Burnham and felt her love for Dee was a contentment in her life.
Freda was the beloved aunt of two nephews, Fred A. Kirk, of Lucerne Valley, and Donald Kirk, of Redding. She will be missed by her two great-nephews, Daniel C. Kirk and Paul M. Kirk; her great-niece Dawna Mc Farlin; great-great nephews Devon Mc Farlin, Brendan Mc Farlin, Caleb Kirk, and Jacob Kirk; and two great-great nieces, Sariah Kirk and Jasmine Kirk.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sunnyside Cemetery, 1095 E. Willow St., Long Beach. Pastor Steeve Arseneault will be officiating.
Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary is handling arrangements.

A Phebe Kirk 1802-1871 married to Levi Boyd Brown and a Charity Kirk b. 1804 Ohio - d. 8 May 1836 - married to Thomas Hoopes. They appear to have Columbiana Ohio in common.
Does anyone know anything about these women? They are both my g5 parents and it seems that their children married each other??? I am not having any luck finding any aditional info or confirmation on them.

At Stroud an unusual marriage took place the other day. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kirk were married after having been separated for eight years. Neither had married since the first separation, and Kirk has lived a regular hermit like on h is fine farm near Parkland, while Mrs. Kirk and her two children had their residence near Bristow, Indian Territory.

Five Women Appear as Witnesses in a Bigamy Case

Claremore: John Kirk was arranged before Hy Jennings, United States commissioner for this district and tried on the charge of bigamy. He was bound over tot he grand jury in the sum of $4,000, and in default of which he was sent to jail. John Kirk is a very much married man, having five wives present at the trial. He is a man about 47 years old, robust in health and build, homely features and has a dull expression. It seems he married every woman who was desperate enough to have him. Three of the women bearing his name have infants in arms and blood in the eyes. They will prosecute him to the full extent of the law. When Kirk was arraigned for trial tow months ago the trial was adjourned and then put off on account of the illness of the prosecuting witness. Since that time three more wives have joined the prosecution. Kirk looks worried and no wonder. All of his wives put up at the same hotel and at noon Kirk was brought in for dinner. His countenance expressed anything but pleasure. He noticed the women talking pleasantly to each other and aside to the officer he said "If I'd thought they could get along that well together, I would have put me up a harem, and would have been done with the whole lot." His trial will come up some time next September.

James William Kirk was born 1862 at Oregon City, Oregon.
His wife was Matty Chrisman. Children: Clarence, Ralph,
Edith, Elsie and another daughter.
In 1905 he lost his left leg, which did not slow him down any.
In 1913, at 51, he came to north central Montana and homestead by the Canadian line. In the 20's he sold the
farm, returned to live with his son, returning in 1928.
From 1928 to his death in 1952, he lived with the Wicks
family, who had bought his land. He is buried in Harve,
Montana by my grandparents and thier two infant sons.
Granddad Kirk was thought of a family member by the
family.
I would like to return a scrap book made by grandmother
for "Granddad" Kirk. It still contains pictures of the Currin
family, George, Elsie, Pearl and Ivan.
There are a few clippings also, and cards.

My husband grandfather was Dock Kirk who lived on Twelvepole WV. His father was a Kade or Cade? Kirk, he was killed by a train in Kermit WV. in the middle or late 1800's. Dock mother was Chloe Kirk she was marriage several time. Her dad was Hugh Kirk who settle in what was known at the time Twelvepole VA. His father, Thomas Byron Kirk, married Surfronia Elizabeth Patridge; and, his father, John W. Kirk, married Harriet Pittman. Lance Cpl. Johnathan E. Kirk, 25, of Belhaven, N.C., died May 1 from wounds received while conducting combat operations on April 23 in Al Anbar province, Iraq. Kirk was assigned to 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Would anyone be familiar with the Jeremiah? KIRK family that lived in Delaware Twp., Juniata Co., PA. in the 1860, 1870 and 1880 census, and possibly before 1860, or later than 1880? I am hoping someone will be able to help me?

In 1860, there are a couple of COLLINS living with the KIRK family, and then in 1880, there are KIRKS living with the COLLINS family. If they are related, how are they related? And under what circumstances are they living with each other?

Berner was found guilty of manslaughter and the community outrage over this led to the burning of the courthouse in Cincinnati in 1884.

I am looking for more information on Randolph Kirk or Kirke who died about 1688 in Westmoreland Co VA, and who owned a great deal of land. Does anyone know who he married? who his children were? did any of them end up in nearby Lancaster co Va?

My ancestor was named Randolph K Miller b abt 1650 possibly Lancaster Co VA and died in 1721 in Lancaster Co VA. He was fairly well off, owned a great deal of land, and his children & descendents married into some of the more powerful families in Virginia.

I am trying to find out if he was named after Randolph Kirke. Perhaps one of Kirke's daughters married a Miller?????

Hannah Kirk was the daughter of George Henry Kirk (1861-1941) and Mary Ida Davis. She married Monroe Alexander Waller in 1898 in Stoddard Co, MO.

She was the mother of George Waller, Theressa Waller, Ruby Waller, Viola Waller, Paul Waller, and Monroe Waller

The death of Thomas Kirk, which occurred at his home, 159 Soth River street, at 8 o'clock Sunday evening, will be a surprise to many in Janesville. Mr. Kirk was born in County Antrim, Ireland, May 8, 1817, and had lived in Janesville since 1840. He was a cooper by trade and for many years, conducted that business on South River street. He was a member of the Masonic order, affliating with Janesville Lodge No. 55, and also of the Commandery and Knights Templar. Mr. Kirk had been in feeble health for a number of years yet few were aware that his end was so near. He leaves a wife and six children--John Kirk of this city, Mrs. L. J. Kinney of San Francisco; Sarah, Grace, Mary, and Martha Kirk of this city. Funeral services under the suspices of the Masonic fraternity will be held from the home at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

I'm looking for info on a John Kirk who was in or around Commanche Iowa around 1859. He was married to a martha and had a son James Edward in 1861, But then he was gone. She supposedly divorced him. Nothing more was ever said about him. We do know he was in the cival war, calvary division. any info would be greatly appreciated.

moffett preston kirk born June 23, 1893 died January 4, 1942 while living in Brush Fork, Mercer county west virginia.

Does anyone know anything about this Wesley Kirk?
