What timeframe are we talking here? I have a GGG Grandfather John Sharron Kirkpatrick who was born in Belmont Co. Ohio in 1802 who had sons John and William born in the 1829-1832 timeframe. Their ancestry was Scots Irish. It is likely some of their decendants ended up in the Cleveland area. There are lots of Kirkpatricks in Knox County as well.

Janet Hunter (born 24 Sep 1786) Tynron, Dumfriesshire, daughter of John Hunter and Agnes Brown, married Robert Kirkpatrick who died after being kicked by a colt at Closeburn markets in 1832. Eldest son Thomas and his wife Ellen Dunnage, with their infant son John migrated in 1838. Other family members followed in 1841 - eldest daughter Helen and husband John Loudon, Mary, Andrew, James, John Hunter, Adam and their mother Janet. Janet died 15 July 1852 at Carcoar, NSW. Thomas (my line) was involved in early gold mining at Forbes, NSW, as well several building projects, as was his brother John Hunter. Sorry this is a bit sketchy and short on detail, but I don't have my records with me. Hope this helps.
Cheers, Val

I am looking for descendants of Marie Richter who was still living in 1921. She was the sister of my grandfather Henry Shults who came to the States with his wife Sophie and daughter Marie ca 1847. Henry Shults was born ca 1849 as the three of them are on the 1850 census of Harris Co., TX.

Both children were orphaned at an early age as the father died of Yellow Fever and the mother was killed by a Spaniard probably around 1854. Marie was visiting away from home and Henry was adopted by a Charles Baker who owned a Wayside Inn close to Houston. Marie and Henry were reunited in 1921 shortly before Henry died. Marie was married to a Mr. Richter and am trying to locate her descendants.

If you know anything about Marie and her descendants, please email me at: g-lwooten@windstream.net.
So sorry to hear about Maries passing. No one notified us as we kept in contact with her via phone then one day it just stopped then we tried calling and the number was no longer in service. I met George, Robert, Cindy and her children when I visited in 2002/2003. Not sure which child you are unless your Belinda? I remember them talking about how there one child took care of them and was a very big help then moved down the street to help them.

I had wrong information you are correct it was John Hunter Kirkpatrick who settled at Albury he married Margaret Jones wether that was in scotland or Australia I do not know. They had a son also called John Hunter born in 1856.
He is my great-Great Grandfather he went on to become a prominent Architect in Sydney and was responsible for many notable buildings name ly the commonwealth bank and mutual life buildings in Martin Place as well as some stands at the Sydney cricket ground. He was also on the judging panel for the designs for Canberra. A graduate Architecture student called Steven Malone wrote his thesis on John's Career in 1969 in this paper he mentions the Kirkpatrick connection to Eugenie albeit briefly. My father called Hunter remembers him coming to the house to talk with my grandfather as part of his research this included a "family scapbook" which is now in the national library in canberra I have not had the opportunity to get to canberra and view this document but it may shed light on this matter.

http://nla.gov.au/nla.ms-ms3050

I eagerly await feedback

Regards
Jeremy

I just saw your post from 2002. Hope you're still there. I am not a direct descendant of Hiram but he is in my tree. Until I saw your post, the only thing I knew about him was that he was married to a "Ruth" in the 1860 census. That census shows them with three children... Minerva, Joan, and Mary. I would appreciate any information you can add, especially on the Kirkpatrick side.
Thanks,
Don

Hi Jim,

I finally found you again. I hope that you receive this e-mail. Shortly after we met in Brookville, I lost all my data on the computer. It has taken me years to replace it (and I am still working on parts of it). You can still reach me at the information I gave you. I don't have much more to tell you on the Kirkpatrick side, but I don't know if I gave you everything that you asked me for. My notes went with my data. If you respond to this message, I will get your response.

Keith Witt

Hi, Don!

Ruth was Hiram's 2nd wife. The family is in the 1850 census in Jackson Twp, Tippecanoe Co, IN, with "Manerva," 3, and Joan, 3 mo.

Interestingly (but not particularly surprisingly), Amy's sister Margaret Jane married Hiram's cousin, Thomas M Kirkpatrick. Neither marriage produced living children although both guys had children from subsequent marriages.

I have some info on the Kirkpatrick line although most is from other people. What are you looking for?

Please contact me directly at cygnetnest@aol.com .

Marti

Sarah Ann KIRKPATRICK, b 1826, Illinois; d 1865, Healdsburg, Sonoma, California

I understand that James Lane KIRKPATRICK was born 22 Mar 1802 in Jefferson county, Georgia. His parents were John KIRKPATRICK and Sarah Winifred LANE, both from South Carolina. James married Phereby (or Thereby or Phoebe) HUFNER, 29 Mar 1821, in Bond county, Illinois. They moved to Bellevue, Jackson, Iowa, where James died in 1856. I have seen lists of their nine children, where the fourth child is not named, just called "daughter KIRKPATRICK", born in Illinois in 1826. This is my problem: I believe that my 2nd great grandmother, Sarah Ann KIRKPATRICK, is this daughter. She and her husband, Daniel Francis SPURR, lived in Bellevue, Iowa, until about 1860, when the KIRKPATRICKS also seemed to leave the area. Daniel was a lawyer and judge in Bellevue, and later in northern California. They lived in close proximity to the KIRKPATRICKS in 1850 and 1860. Can anyone help me to link Sarah Ann KIRKPATRICK to James Lane KIRKPATRICK?

Anyone with information on Alexander Kirkpatrick, born 1800, County Cork, Ireland. married Susanna/Susan Nimmo. Had three children, all born in Ireland: James Henry (B.1830, m. Martha Newton)), Mary (B.1831) and Thomas (B.1835, m. Margaret Coweper). The boys married in Ireland and came to Cleveland by way of Canada. James's oldest daughter, Jane "Jennie" Kirkpatrick, was born somewhere in Canada in 1864. The rest of the family, with the exception of my g-grandfather, was born in, and remained in, Ohio. My family settled in southern Wisconsin.

Hello,

I am researching my ancestor James Kirkpatrick b.1701 in Dumfrieshire, Scotland. He left Dumfrieshire sometime after 1715, probably with family members and went to Charlestown, South Carolina.

He fathered a son, James Kirkpatrick in 1729/1730, mother unknown. James Kirkpatrick and son returned to England sometime before 1754 and settled in Kent.

His son James went on to become a Colonel and served in India and Sumatra before retiring to Hollydale, near Bromley in Kent. He married Katherine Munro and had three sons: William, George and James Achilles. Col. James died in 1818.

I am interested in who James' (senior) parents were, any marriages he had and details of any other children.

I do not think he has a marker or headstone. His BD is 3-25-1872 & DD 6-19-1946.
Could anyone help me? Possibly someone who lives near the cemetery and might be able to locate the plot.
I live in NC. Any help would be most appreciated!

John Kirkpatrick

Any info is appreciated. This John Kirkpatrick is somehow related to the pioneer Daniel Kirkpatrick of Plymouth Ohio. He is buried in Opdyke Cemetery on the Kirkpatrick homestead there. Born 1749- Died July 30, 1831. Not sure if he lived in Plymouth Ohio or possibly in PA and when died was buried in family plot in Opdyke Cemetery.
Thomas Bell Kirkpatrick (1831-?)

I am looking for information on descendents of my great grand-uncle, Thomas Bell Kirkpatrick, son of (my great-great grandparents) James and Eliza Marsh Kirkpatrick. Thomas Bell Kirkpatrick married Elizabeth Catherine Denton in 1853 and they lived in Kentucky until moving to Coffey County, Kansas, between 1870 and 1880. They had five children: Thomas, Ella, Charles, John, and Wesley.
According to family members the Kansas Kirkpatricks had a photograph of James and Eliza.
If anyone has more information or corrections I would be most grateful to hear from them.

Anyone have knowledge of a Kirkpatrick family of " Haladal House " in Kent (England?)

Source:http://www.archive.org/stream/increaseofcrimei00boonrich/inc...

Anna (Boyle) Boon/Boone [born abt 1823 in Plymouth, England] says in her book (see link, above):
"I married in opposition to my mother's wishes, and all my
relations. Mr. Boone [?James Arthur Boon/Boone] was what we English define a poor gentleman : had great expectations, which were never realized, and no profession. At first, my mother was prepossessed in his favor, and quite willing that he should pay his addresses to me ; but, when she found out that his mother's income went back into the Kirkpatrick family of " Haladal House " in Kent at her death, my mother was most opposed to our marriage ; ..."

Anna Boyle's husband "Mr. Boone" was probably several years older than Anna, born maybe in the early 1800's.

Anna Boyle married "Mr. Boone" in Exeter, England, abt. 1841. (Exeter is also the place his mother was residing at the time of their marriage.)

I am looking for a Boon/Boone - Kirkpatrick connection (if any), and ultimately looking for the parents of the "Mr. Boone" that married Anna Boyle.

Anna (Boyle) Boon/Boone and her husband were in America (NY ?) by abt 1848. They came with at least 2 of their young children: Anna Isabella Boon/Boone and Lora Gordon Boon/Boone.

Anna Boyle's parents were Patrick George Boyle and Grace Hooke (of the former De la Hooke family)

Roz Edson: MrsEdson@gmail.com
