Mabel Fern Bingaman married my great uncle Alfred Felix Williams in 1905.On a Bingaman family tree maker site it says Mabel Fern Bingaman was married to a Harry Williams in 1905 I am trying to find out if maybe my great uncle was called Harry Williams instead of his given name Alfred Felix Williams. If anyone can help me clear this up I would greatly appreciate it.Thank you, Rose

Doris KISTLER Buegger - Jazz Pianist - Ohio

MANSFIELD, Ohio- Without question Doris Beugger was one of Ohio's finest and most talented jazz pianists. Well into her golden years, she would light onto a piano bench and her fingers would dance up and down the keyboard, carefully maintaining syncopated rhythms and melody lines.

Her music is now limited to a few recordings and many memories, as Doris died Sunday morning, May 31, 2009 in Lexington Court Care Center.

Born Doris LaVonne Kistler in Wooster, Ohio to Joseph and Della "Teddy" (James) Kistler, she was graduated from Wooster High School. She attended the Eastman School of Music in Corning, NY, University of Louisville (KY), and The Ohio State University.

Doris began playing the piano at age three. Her father was a vocalist and she would play what she heard him singing. She started to play professionally when she was 12. During her high school years she played piano for the weekend broadcast shows of Canton Radio Station WADC, and remained active with many jazz music groups her entire life. Along with her late husband Werner "Buggs" Beugger on the bass, she played throughout Ohio with their combo "The Noteables."

During her long music career, she encountered numerous celebrities and dignitaries. Well known in music circles, she played in many local groups including Paul Martin's Stardust Band, the house band of the Meyers Lake Ballroom. Wearing her signature ultra-suede suits or sequinned gowns, she played solo gigs at The China Club and Manhattan Room and also gave instruction in jazz piano technique with the Art Academy.

In 1989 she was crowned Ms. Ohio Senior America, and placed in the top five finalists of the national Senior Pageant in Atlantic City. Doris was a Gold Card member of the American Federation of Musicians, and received the prestigious A.F.M. President's Award in 1984.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mansfield Leiderkranz and American Legion Post #16 Auxiliary. Since 1945, she kept a daily log, her diary, every day until her death. She enjoyed fine antique collectibles and spent hours sewing her own performance gowns and clothing.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol Wilson of Canton, Ohio and Barbara Rachel of Mansfield; grandchildren, Tracy & Frank Bowen, Trent Hale, Mark & Paula Rahall and Brett & Karen Hale; great grandchildren, Brittany Hale, Breanne Hale, Brice Hale, Alexandra Bowen and Ana Rahall; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Arthur Tate, Robert Jones and Werner Beugger; a son-in-law, James Wilson; sisters, Jane Aspinall, Joan Waggoner and Mary Alice Wagner; and a cherished friend, William Gandert.

Doris' Family will receive friends Tuesday, June 2, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, and Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.

Contributions in her memory may be made to Local #159 American Federation of Musicians, at the funeral home.

Condolences to the Beugger Family may be made online by visiting: www.snyderfuneralhomes.com
What county and township are you talking about? Looks to me as though there's confusion here, and giving locations would help.
The Johs KISTLER who m. Eva Maria WIDDERSTEIN was, I think, the Johs. b. 29 May 1757, d. 12 Jun 1819 in Kistler Valley near New Tripoli PA. He's a generation earlier than what you've been discussing. His 1819 estate went to his later wife, a Catharine. I've never seen a suggestion that he m. Elisabeth SCHNEIDER. This would all be in Lehigh Co.
A Johannes KISTLER was b. 25 Mar 1818 in the Catawissa area, Columbia County, from parents Johannes KISTLER and Elisabeth. Could these parents be the Johs. KISTLER and Elisabeth SCHNEIDER you're talking about, except the date of birth is after the year you give for her death.

Did you ever get any information on Daisy? I have information that might help. I believe that Daisy M(?) Kistler had a brother Harry L. born 9-29-1883 in Wooster Oh & died 12-29-1951, buried in the Wooster Cemetary Lott 2002 Sec 26 Grave 7669. She also had a sister Mabel May Kistler born 11-1884 & died around 1976 (92 yrs old) married to Ralph Crow who died in 1970. I knew them when I was a little girl. Her parents were Clinton Dewitt or Dewitt Clinton ? born 11-5-1851 in Wooster OH married to Sarah Beery or Berry or maybe even Berg. Is this the family you are searching?

Yes i have been active in the research of Daisy as with the census i found that her parents are clinton Dewitt Kistler and Sarah Nee Beery. Her brother Harry L. Kistler B. 29/sept/1882 is listed on the census as 1882 birth date now Mabel Kistler i have a picture of her at a old age with a little girl talking to her maybe this is you. by finding Daisy DeathCert. i began Putting this Family together and they go back to he 1600 century Switzerland. parents of Clinton are Adam Amos and Elizabeth Markel. If you have any info for Harry this is the one i'm working on now as i know his wifes name is Melzene she died before harry and i believe is buried in wooster ohio. thanks for the reply.

I have Harry L Kistler born Sept 29, 1883 not 1882. I think I got this from the Health Department records in Wayne Co. Wooster. I have his address as 601 Oak Hill in Wooster OH and the informant of his death is Mabel. I have that Harry died Dec 29 1951 and was buried in Oak Hill (Wooster) Cem. Lot 2002 Sec 26 Grave 7669 I also have penciled in that he was a truckdriver. That is about all - but I never tried to research that line. I have also seen the graves of Clinton and Sarah. They are buried together but Sarah's name is not on the stone. Sec 8 Lot 915 1/2, Grave 5114 & 5305. Good luck in your research and let me know if i can help with anything else.
He mentions several names, Jonathin Brandt, Harley Brandt, Wil or Phil Brandt and sisters, Effie and Grace Brandt. Also mentions Auntie Miller, who had recently died, and Dora Hudson. Then a Phil Gibbony, Jennie and Rachael, no surnames for the ladies. Can anyone help? Have found Jas in several Ohio censuses and he was born there. Gillian Porter
