The Wenzel Klement line comes from Bohemia (Southern Chzech Republic), NOT from Bavaria, which is in Southern Germany.

Wenzel is a common Chzech name. My great-grandfather was Wenzel Klement of Vienna Austria (originally from Bohemia)

Wenzel Klement

Looking for additonal information on the Wenzel Klement family that lived in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County, Minnesota at time of 1880 Census. Wenzel is the head of household (b.abt. 1858) and his wife's name is Franziska (b.abt 1859) His mother Johanna is also in the household (b. abt. 1820). All are from Bohemia.

I have been told that a Klement family sponsored the immigration of my great grandmother's family (Schreiner) around 1897 and were somehow related to the Brandl family that she later married into. This is the township she resided in as of the 1900 census and the only Klement family I locate prior to 1897 from Bavaria/Bohemia. I am following up on this to find out why my great grandfather was in that area when he met my great grandmother to fill out some of the family history.

Martin,

Sorry I didn't reply directly to you. My dad's been sick and I haven't been on the computer a lot.

My email is makz3d (The AT sign) woh (dot) rr (dot and then) com.

I'll replace all letters with *
****3*@***.**.***

It's the same that you'll find if you click on my name. I typed it the 2 ways I did to try and prevent spammers from picking it up.

I have research done on the Filip surname a couple of years ago. Would you be interested in me emailing it to you? If I remember right there are 2 Filipova in Spalov. The house that belonged to my Filip ancestors was owned by a family with a different surname in the 1880 census. (NOTE: In the next census (dated 1880) is in the house #133 mentioned another (Sima) family)

The Jakl house was owned by their mother's Jakl Aunt. After her marriage the house was her husbands. (NOTE: Josefa Jakl was born on 25 October 1846 as a daughter of Franz Jakl. After her wedding on 22 Jan 1867 is mentioned in the next census (dated 1869) as a owner of house #17 her husband Franz Kral.)

The Filip father died February 08, 1880 and the mother died sometime in 1880. Death information on the mother was not located. The 5 children still living were sent to their mother's sister in Texas.

Thank you so much,
Kathy

I do not have any information about the Klement family, but as I was doing a search your last name came up. The family I am looking for is "Wiskur" from Luxembourg. Also, I have found some alternate spellings which are the same as yours, "Wiscour". I was wondering if you have information on your surname that would be helpful to me in identifying ancestors in Luxembourg. My search surrounds three brothers who came here in 1856 and settled in Illinois before branching into Kansas and Missouri. The names are Nicholas, Frank, and William. Their parents were John and Margaretha. Someone in my family has traced them to Diekirch Luxembourg. Does your family originate from Luxembourg?

Hello Susan,

I believe that you are related to my husband, Bobbie R. Klement. His father was Luis Alanso Klement. Louis' sister was Annie Mae Klement. Their father was Frank Joe Klement. Frank's father was the Julius Klement in my posting, and they were indeed from Austria.

You may well know Bobbie's older brother, Alfred Klement who lives in El Paso, Texas.

Please email me at my personal e-address. I have some very interesting information on Frank & Julius and the Austrian Klements I'd be happy to share with you. Am looking forward to "meeting" you soon.

Nan Klement
nank@uswest.net
Julius Klement Family - Texas 1880

I have information on Julius Klement who came to America with his family in 1880. They were from Bernhau, Austria, about 150 miles east of Prague. The village no longer exists, but was on the Oder River in what is now Czechoslovakia. With the help of a professional researcher in Austria, the Klements have been traced back to the late 1600's and early 1700's.
Julius brought his family to Texas and they settled in Milam County. Later a younger brother, Josef, joined Julius with his family. We know that Julius left several siblings in Austria and want to try to find any relatives descended down from them. If any other siblings came to America we are unaware of them. However we can not rule out the possibility given that there are a fair number of people with the same surname, but no connections to our family that we can determine.

If anyone has any information on this family, please contact me at: nank@uswest.net

Wenzel Klement of Czech.

Hi Di,

No, sorry, we don't have a Wenzel in our family that we know of... but that doesn't mean he wasn't related to our family. Perhaps the two towns were not all that far apart after all. Families do miagrate for many reasons. Although we know our Julius had siblings, and we do have their names, we do not know anything about them other than the one, Josef, who joined him in Texas. We do however have an Anton! (Anton seems to be a very common name.) Our Anton was born May 28, 1774 in Bernhau. The parish archive records for Bernhau are in Bodenstadt. This Anton was a brother of one of our direct ancestors, Johann Kasper Klement b. Jan 2, 1771, also in Bernhau. His father was Andreas Klement and mother was Elisabetha.

What interests me is that this is my first contact with another Klement family from the same time frame that we can document our own family in. The paid researcher lost track of our Klement line because the records in the parish archives he went to were either missing or did not go back any further. I would suggest that you consider the help of a professional researcher who can travel to these parish archives in Czechoslovakia. There is a wealth of information to be gained from this investment. We would never have been able to locate these ancestors ourselves because these records have never been copied as have so many others. You can not go to your local LDS Family Centger and look these parish records up. If you are interested in more information aout this, please contact me at my email address listed in my original posting. Good Luck!

Alfred William Klement in Milam County, Texas

I'm trying to figure out who the parents of Alfred William Klement are.

Here's what I know about him:

He was born at Rockdale, Milam, Texas, November 30, 1901 and in early life with his family moved to Oklahoma where he attended schools in that state.
Later his family moved to Clovis, New Mexico where he was graduated from high school in 1917. He then moved to Tyler, Texas where he attended Tyler Commercial College. After graduating from this college in 1921, he accepted a position with a supply company at Mexia, working in that city during the "Oil Boom" days of the early 1920's.
In 1923 he went to work for the Lawrence Grocery Company in Bryan, Texas and moved to Hearne in 1926 continuing to represent that company as salesman.
In 1933 he went into the wholesale grocery business for himself in Hearne and at this time established the Hearne Wholesale Grocery Company.
He was married to Miss Elizabeth England of Ennis, Texas, October 5, 1922. Mr. and Mrs. Klement have four sons: Captain A. W. Klement Jr., John Klement, Louis Klement, and Allen Klement.

He died July 14, 1973 in Robertson County, Texas and is buried at Norwood Cemetery, Robertson County, Texas.

In the 1930 census he says that his father was born in Germany and his mother was born in Alabama.

Any help would be appreciated!

Jennifer
P.S. I found Annie Bell buried in Providence Cemetery, Cherokee County, TX. b. 29 Dec 1880 d. 20 Sep 1920.

With her is Frank J. Klement Jr. b. 21 Mar 1915 d. 29 Jan 1939.

I wonder if Annie died giving birth to their daughter Ruth A. According to the 1930 census Ruth would have been born in late 1920 or early 1921.

All I need now is exact birth/death dates for Frank and also Frank's full name (middle name?).

Thanks,
Jennifer

Nannette,

Thank you for your note. It's so interesting! I wrote that message a year ago and set aside my research of this family until just yesterday! Literally, just a few hours before you answered this message which had been here for a year I found this same information. I found the family of Frank J. and Anna Belle Wilburn in the 1910 and 1900 census.

Here is the other information I found:

Frank J. Klement b. July 1877 in Germany immigrated in 1881 to Pennsylvania d. 1960 buried at Ross Cemetery in Cherokee County, TX. He married Anna Belle Wilburn in 1898 in Texas. Anna Belle b. Dec 1880 d. bef 1930 was the only child of James W. and Margaret Wilburn. Frank and Anna had at least four children: Julian J. b. June 1899 d. bet 1900-1910, Alfred William, Anna M. b. ca 1905 and Louis A. b. 19 May 1908 d. Jan 1969.

My research is specifically on the family of Alfred and Betty Klement, though I would like the exact birth and death dates of Frank J. and Anna Belle (as well as Frank's full name). Alfred's wife, Elizabeth Moore England, was my second cousin. I am researching the Culbert family (her mother was Letitia Evergreen Culbert) and would like to document Betty's family. Is there any way you could ask Frank Allen Klement to contact me? Does he have email access?

I appreciate any help you can give. Thank you again for responding!

Jennifer

Hello - I am looking for my european ancestors. My great-great-grandfather is Vincent Klement. According to US Census records, he was born in July, 1836 and immigrated to the USA in 1882. We believe he came from Austria, possibly the Bohemia region (which is now Czechoslovakia). Vincent's wife, Annie (maiden name unknown) and his son, Frank Klement, immigrated to the USA a year later in 1883. We also believe there was a daughter, but have no name. The family settled in the township of Medford, Taylor County, Wisconsin.

I have just started this research and am new to genealogy in general, so any information that can be provided about the Klement family will be appreciated.

Please email me at kathykjk@yahoo.com

Kathy Klement of Scottsdale, Arizona (formerly from Wisconsin)
