My great-great-grandfather is supposed to Johannes Klemm from Baden. He was born about 1803, married an Anna Catherine (or Catarina), and immigrated with the family to the Philadelphia port in 1847. All I have is a copy of the ship (Louise Marie) registry. My great-grandfather Johann was included at age 9. I cannot find any connect between Johannes Klem and Germany anywhere. Johann became John Klem (Clem). The first reference to him is as a 13-year-old laborer in Pennsylvania. There is no other record until his son (my grandfather) John Klem was born in 1869 in Pierce, IL. Can anyone help me?
