Seeking info on the wife of Christian F. Klingbeil, b.1828 in Zollnitz, Pommerania, Germany. Immigrated to U.S. in 1887, and settled in Marshall County, Iowa. Children: Lena (b. 1865), Albert (b. 1868), August (b.1869), Franz or Frank (b. 1874)and William. Wife I believe was named Wilhelmina Klatt. Ship's records indicate Christian Klingbeil immigrated without her -- any information you have on her would be welcome. Thanks!

Louise must have been the last to post on this site. This is Diana Renick. I am Grandaughter of Hazel Martha Henrietta Klingbeil Huggard. My Dad was Russell Huggard who just passed away two months ago. I was up in Windermere two weeks ago. I received some Klingbeil history from Ora Klingbeil Taylor while I was up there. She is going to be 95 years old in September. Visited Elmer and Josie Klingbeil while we where there also. We do have a very large family! The Barefoots are from Myrtles side of the family. Would love to know where Gwen, Barbara and Nancy are. They are Myrtles grandchildren.

My grandmother Celia Violet Augusta (Klingbeil)Frank and Myrtle Irene Ethel(Klingbeil)Barefoot were sisters.
Other siblings were Verna, Margie, Nettie, Ora, Elmer, Orville, and Loren. There may have been 1-2 others.Grandma went by 'Vi', Verna went by 'Ollie'. Most of the females used nicknames or one of their middle names. There are 2 siblings still living(that I'm aware of) in Windermere.
My great-grandparents Gustavis Klingbeil & Selinas(?); looking for info. All I know is she was Irish; he was German, farmer in Muskoka. I remember visiting 'Aunt' Myrtle & 'Uncle' Archie's farm eons ago(fresh-from-cow warm milk and lot's of good food & great homemade pies.)Nettie married James Huggard. Verna ('Ollie') and Ora married the Taylor brothers Horace and Robert.

Hello Jann,
William would be my Grand Uncle. I know nothing about Mary.

According to his marriage certificate, William August was married in Hamilton age 19 in 1918. His mother was actually Bertha Johannah LENTZ, not Beaver. I have lots of ancestor information to share.
I have his birth as 26 May 1899, according to the 1901 Census. He died 20 Jan 1984.
Direct family info I have is sketchy. I believe they had one daughter who is probably still living.
I will contact you privately.
I have her parents and grandparents in Canada and Buffalo,NY.
I am having difficulty finding their children and other descendants.

I am researching Robert Lawrence Klingbeil, youngest son of Theodore William and Eva I. (Wilkens/Wilkins) Klingbeil Sr.

Robert Lawrence was born in Berwyn, Cook County, Illinois on 27 Oct 1927 and migrated to Carlsbad, San Diego County, California, date unknown. His death is listed as 21 Apr 2007, San Diego County, California.

The death notice was found on Rootsweb but scouring the obituaries from San Diego County has scored a zerro. Apparently, none was posted in a newspaper.

Robert Lawrence's only known sibling is Theodore William Klingbeil Jr., word of mouth information indicates Theodore living in or around Phoenix, Arizona although no hard evidence exists.

Any direction or obituary help would be greatly appreciated!

Regards, Robert Lipprandt

Dear Sunshine,

I do believe that Gustav's father was named Ludwig. My grandfather could not remember his grandmothers name. He thought it might be Shounroch, but was not certain. I believe that either Ludwig (the father0 or Gustav moved to Konstantynow, Poland to find work. My grand father Alfred was born in that town. The two Ludwig's that I found were born northwest of Konstantynow, but I have yet to find the birth place of Gustav. I do plan on taking a trip to poland within a few years and dig that info up. I should be able to find it in the town hall. Give me some more info and maybe we can make a connection.

KLINGBEIL (North Dakota) Daughters of Edward Klingbeil

Looking for information on the daughters of Edward Klingbeil (Feb 1844 - before 1909). Daughters were named Amanda (born about 1872), Minna (born about 1879), Martha (born about 1880). All were born in Germany and came to the US with their parents (Edward and Amelia/Emilia (1845-1909)) in 1883. The family settled eventually in Richland County, North Dakota. By 1900, all three were probably married as Edward's household in the census consisted of him, his wife, and his son, Herman Edward (1871-1942), but all of Amelia's children were listed as living.

i was a young guy living with my aunt, then this person came into her life named chester. think they had just a court marraige, maybe in ketchikan, alaska. aftera while i started calling him uncle chet, and that stuck with him. he and my aunt treated me like their own son, and he was a very kind and nice man. he owned a big boat named "aleyeska", he was hired by the cannerys to get fish from fishing boats out in the fishing fields, and i'd go with him. i'm an alaskan native, half aleut and half indian, loved uncle chet and missed him.

Julius Klingbeil (aka Klimbal)/Agnes Zagrocki of Detroit

I am trying to find the ancestral families of Julius KLINGBEIL my G-Grandfather, who immigrated from Posen, Prussia to Detroit in 1882 and Agnieszka Zagrocki, my G-Grandmother. Julius and Agnes (born in Prussia-Poland) were believed to be married in Michigan (no official records located) and had three children, Frank (b. 1888), Anthony (my grandfather, b. 1892) and Victoria (b. 1895), all born in Detroit, who at birth were given the surname of KLIMBAL (Julius changed his name spelling). Julius was born 29 May 1856, and died 22 Jun 1941. Agnes was born 16 Apr 1860 and died 21 Sep 1910. Both died in the Detroit area and buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Were they by chance in Wisconsin?

I too have a KLINGBEIL-STELTER, but it is Fred KLINGBEIL/Anna STELTER (Lynne Bliss and I are both related to this STELTER family, Klingbeil is not a direct line) That I know this family was in Wisconsin, several counties including: Jefferson, Walworth, and some connections also to Rock and Marquette.

Please email me! unette@aol.com or write
Unette Lemke
W557 Hwy 18
Sullivan, WI 53178

Lori,

I was reading your post and was glued to the remark you made about Lutz, Poland. My grandfather was also born in Lutz, Poland. Alfred Klingbeil was born around 1911 in Lutz. His parents were Gustav Klingbeil and Wanda (Lieshe)Klingbeil. Gustav came to Canada prior to WW1 and Wanda and Alfred joined him after the war. All of the Klingbeil's in Philadelphia are related to Alfred. I have no information about the extented family in Lutz. There might be a connection here. Please e-mail be back if you care to. This could be interesting. dklingbe@tiu11.org

Dear Sir,

I hope that I might be able to help in your quest. Even though I do not have information about your greatgrand father, my info mighht help you to look elsewhere. I was born and raised in the city of Philadelphia. The only Klingbeil's in the book are related to me. My grandfather was Alfred Klingbeil, Son of Gustav Klingbeil. Gustav arrived in Canada around the turn of the century and moved to Philadelphia around the 1920's. Then returned to Canada (Ruston, Sash) during WW2. I have yet to find out if Gustav traveled with other family members. I hope that helps you.

Dan

The LDS
record her as married to Alma Oades PLAYER,
but her 1923 death certificate (Salt Lake
City) says she was unmarried at the time of
her death. Do you have any information about
her? She evidently kept in touch with some
relatives in Germany.

I figured that Louisa must have had some con-
nection with the PLAYER family other than
wife. I read her obituary on microfilm at the
LDS library.
Are there any pictures extant of Mary or
Louisa or any of the rest of them? Judy
